Lancaster Bible won three sets by two points – all beyond the prescribed score – in a 3-2 win over Gettysburg.
THE LEADERS

Ellen Manke (Madison, N.J./Morristown Beard School) had a career-high eight blocked shots for the Bullets to go with five kills and five digs.
•
Emma Bradshaw (East Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) led the attack with 16 kills to go with eight digs and four blocks.

• Lea Sareyka led the Chargers with 15 kills and 12 digs.

• Two
Ellen Manke blocks and an
Erin Gonzalez (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) ace keyed a 5-0 start to the match for Gettysburg. The Bullets opened up a 10-2 lead in the opening set and never looked back in a 25-17 win.
• After a back-and-forth start to the second set,
Nala Shearer (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County) put down an ace to tie the set at 6-all as part of a run of five straight points. The lead grew to 14-8 on a Gonzalez ace but Lancaster Bible clawed back into it. Back-to-back Eden Belford aces and a Madeline Reed kill tie the set at 23-all. Tied at 25-all, Jessica Fletcher knocked down consecutive kills for a 27-25 win to knot the match at 1-all.
• Five straight points early in the third set gave the Chargers a 6-3 lead. The advantage grew as large as 11-5 but three
Clare Farrell (Livingston, N.J./Academy of Saint Elizabeth) and a
Kierra Fox (Phoenix, Ariz./Rancho Solano Prep School) ace keyed a 6-2 run that tied the set at 15-all. Ultimately, the set featured 11 ties and five lead changes. Tied for the final time at 30-all, Hannah Helmer put down a kill and Kaitlyn Weitzel finished off a 32-20 win with an ace.
• Four of Shearer's five aces in the match came during a closing 12-0 run in the fourth set that produced a 25-8 win and forced the deciding set.
• Lancaster Bible opened up a 7-3 lead in the fifth set on a Lea Sareyka ace, forcing a Gettysburg timeout. The Bullets responded with the next three points, including two
Kaitlyn Hedrich (Mokena, Ill./Lincoln Way) aces to make it 7-6. After being tied at 8-all, 9-all and 10-all, Gettysburg scored back-to-back points for a 12-10 lead. Three Sareyka kills in the next three points retied the set at 13-all. Trailing 14-13 and after a timeout, Farrell and Gonzalez made it 15-14 to force a Chargers timeout. Kills, however, from three different players gave Lancaster Bible the 17-15 win.
THE INSIDE STORY
•
Nala Shearer recorded her second 30-dig match of the season to go with her five aces. Her 32 digs gives her 1,051 for her career and moves her into the top-20 all-time in program history.
•
Ava Grall (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla./Ponte Vedra) posted a double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs.
•
Clare Farrell chipped in 10 kills over the final three sets.
•
Erin Gonzalez added eight kills, three blocks and 17 digs while
Kierra Fox had 12 digs.
