The Schmidt File: Will compete for playing time at strong safety after receiving substantial action last season...Could also see playing time on special teams...A converted tailback and a transfer from Bloomsburg University.

2010: Played in all 10 games at strong safety and special teams…Made back-to-back starts – the first two of his career – in wins at Juniata and Dickinson…Finished with 17 tackles…Made a career-high five tackles and blocked a punt in a win over Moravian...Also had four stops against Dickinson.

2009: Appeared in two games at tailback in wins over Moravian and Juniata…Rushed eight times for 47 yards…Picked up 46 yards on seven rushes against Juniata.

2008: Competed as a defensive back at Bloomsburg but did not appear in any varsity games.

High School: Competed in football, lacrosse, and track & field at Governor Mifflin H.S…Played for head coach Mick Verchio.

Personal: Born July 1, 1989…Son of George and Lisa Schmidt…A health sciences major.
