Gettysburg College is committed to educating our student athletes on how to lead a life of well-being. Through coaching, mentoring, and a network of campus partners, we provide no a welcoming environment for our athletes to reach their fullest potential both in and out of the classroom.
We accomplish this through our
SAIL (Student Athlete Impact Leader) program and the 6 Dimensions of Well-being:
- Physical Well-Being: Helping our student athletes develop healthy lifestyle behaviors that improve their quality of life and overall physical health.
- Emotional Well-Being: Helping our student athletes learn how to cope and build resiliency in navigating the challenges life can bring and helping them develop the capacity to establish and maintain positive relationships and love in their lives.
- Professional Well-Being: Helping our student athletes cultivate knowledge, skills, networks, and experiences, to empower them to create and pursue meaningful futures.
- Community Well-Being: Helping our student athletes develop a sense of engagement and belonging personally, institutionally and beyond Gettysburg College.
Each month during the academic calendar, SAIL members will engage teams and athletics staff with activities focused on one of the dimensions of well-being.
