Gettysburg College Athletics

Tonight's Centennial Conference (CC) game marks the 37th meeting between Gettysburg (6-3-1, 4-1 CC) and No. 7 Johns Hopkins (9-1-1, 5-0 CC) in a series that dates back to 1992. The Blue Jays lead the all-time series 21-14-1, including wins in five of the last six matchups. The only Bullet victory in that stretch was a 3-2 overtime win in 2019.

WHEN LAST WE MET: Johns Hopkins, ranked fourth at the time, scored twice in a three-minute stretch of the first half to key a 4-0 win over Gettysburg last season. LAST TIME OUT: Gettysburg took advantage of one of its few true threats in the 67th minute and the defense once again did its job for a 1-0 win over Dickinson on Wednesday. Jordan Weinberg, who helped anchor the Bullets' backline to another strong performance, got the game's lone tally off a corner kick. Alex Jurow made five saves in goal, including a pair of critical stops in the final 25 minutes of the game, for the fourth shutout of her rookie season. DOING IT WITH DEFENSE: Gettysburg made it five straight victories on Wednesday with a 1-0 win over Dickinson. Four of the five wins during the current winning streak have been by 1-0 margins. Freshman Alex Jurow has posted four shutouts in the stretch with 19 saves over the five games to backstop a defense that has posted a 0.33 goals-against average with her in net. Her GAA is second in the conference while her .920 save percentage paces the CC.

LAST TIME OUT: Johns Hopkins, ranked seventh, scored three second-half goals to break a scoreless tie, leading the Blue Jays past visiting Washington (Md.) 3-0 on Wednesday. (Full Recap) (Box Score)

LEADING THE PACK: Katie Sullivan enters the weekend tied for the conference lead with nine goals. After going through a three-game stretch without a goal between Sept. 20 and Sept. 27, she has scored in back-to-back games. She has also added three assists on year. Johns Hopkins is outscoring their opponents 29-7 this season. The 22-goal differential is the most of any conference team.
