Colleen Leonard

Colleen Leonard is in her third season as assistant volleyball coach and assistant equipment manager in 2015-16.

Leonard serves a dual role within the Department of Athletics. She aids Head Coach Leah Bernier in managing the volleyball team and recruiting prospective student-athletes, while also assisting Head Equipment Manager Kelly Jones with organizing and handling equipment for all 24 intercollegiate sports at Gettysburg.

In her two seasons with the volleyball team, Leonard helped lead the Bullets to a 33-24 overall record with three players earning All-Centennial Conference distinction in those years.

Leonard arrives in Gettysburg following a two-year stint as a graduate assistant coach with the volleyball program at Otterbein University. During that time, she helped the Cardinals go 53-16, win the program’s first Ohio Athletic Conference championship, and make two appearances in the NCAA Division III Tournament. Leonard recently graduated from Otterbein with a master’s in business administration.

As an undergraduate, Leonard was a standout volleyball player at Kalamazoo College. She was a three-time All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) selection, earning first-team honors in both 2010 and 2011. She served as team captain in 2011 and finished her career with 1,170 kills, 933 digs, and 268 total blocks. Leonard graduated from Kalamazoo with a degree in business.Â
