STEVENSON, Md. – Gettysburg led 2-1 early, but it was all Stevenson the rest of the way as the No. 7 Mustangs rolled to a 16-6 non-conference victory over the No. 2 Bullets Wednesday afternoon in a battle of top-10 teams.
Stevenson (formerly Villa Julie) rattled off a 10-0 run spanning the first three quarters to build an 11-2 lead with 11:51 left in the third period. Gettysburg was unable to get closer than eight the rest of the way.
Jimmy Dailey led the Mustangs (3-0) with four goals and three assists while Richie Ford poured in four goals and an assist. Nicola Bevacqua also notched a hat trick, scoring three goals, while Steve Kazimer had two goals and two assists.
Junior
Josh Reichert (Englewood, Colo./Kent School) scored a career-high three goals to lead Gettysburg (1-1).

Danno Lynch (Medfield, Mass./Avon Old Farms) struck 1:07 apart to put the Orange & Blue up 2-1 with 11:42 on the first-quarter clock. However, Stevenson put up five goals over the remainder of the period, including three inside the final 1:26, to take a 6-2 lead at end of the opening quarter.
The Mustangs continued their surge with four more goals in the second quarter and took a 10-2 lead into the locker room. Bevacqua added another tally early in the second half before Reichert stopped the bleeding when he scored his second goal with 7:53 on the third-quarter clock to make it 11-3. However, Stevenson answered with the next three goals as its lead ballooned to 11 with 1:35 to go in the third quarter.
Reichert made it 14-4 at the end of the period when he scored his final goal with nine seconds showing. The two teams traded goals twice in the fourth quarter, with senior Tom O'Donnell (Montgomeryville, Pa./La Salle College) scoring with 11:00 to go and classmate
Rob Triplett (McLean, Va./McLean) beating the clock with one second left.
Stevenson held a 44-36 advantage in shots and won 15-of-25 face-offs. Geoff Hebert played all but 3:17 in goal and finished with 10 saves while yielding five goals.

Zach Furshman (Miami, Fla./Kent School [Conn.]) started in goal for the Bullets and gave up 14 goals over the opening 43:25 while stopping eight shots. Senior
Charles Floeckher (Lutherville, Md./Boys Latin School) recorded two saves and gave up two goals in the final 16:35.
Gettysburg returns to action on Saturday, when it faces a top-10 opponent for the second game in a row. The Bullets will take on No. 2 SUNY Cortland at John J. Burns Park in Massapequa, N.Y.
