GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Two was the magic number on Saturday as the 20th-ranked Gettysburg College men's lacrosse team held visiting McDaniel College to a pair of goals and locked up the second seed for the Centennial Conference Tournament next weekend.
Gettysburg (10-5, 6-2 CC) picked up its fourth consecutive victory by downing McDaniel (6-8, 3-5 CC) 8-2. The Bullets finished the regular season tied with Haverford College (11-3, 6-2 CC) for the runner-up position in the season standings, but claim the second seed by virtue of a 10-4 win over the Fords earlier this season. Haverford earns the third seed and will get a rematch with Gettysburg in the CC Tournament semifinals next Saturday at Dickinson College.

McDaniel out-shot Gettysburg 35-27 in the contest, but the Green Terror struggled to find the cage with only 10 attempts on goal. The visitor's held their own on defense, however, holding the Bullets to just three shots and a single score by Lynch in the opening period.

Martin Manilla regained the three-goal lead for Gettysburg with a tally four seconds before the half.
Following Lynch's second goal at the start of the third period, DJ Rickels posted the Green Terror's second goal to cut the deficit to 5-2. Gettysburg ended with each of the final three goals of the contest with Ward scoring twice and freshman
Derek Ruebling adding his first collegiate goal with 11 seconds left.
