LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall College erased a five-goal halftime deficit and scored the game-winning goal with 17 seconds left as the host Diplomats rallied past No. 19 Gettysburg 12-11 in Centennial Conference men's lacrosse action on Wednesday.
The Bullets (8-6, 4-2 CC) now find themselves tied with No. 10 Washington College for third place in the conference standings. Washington visits Swarthmore Wednesday evening while Haverford, fifth in the conference at 3-3, visits Ursinus.
Gettysburg led 11-10 with 6:16 left, but Tristan Miller scored twice in the final 5:22 to give him five goals for the game. The Diplomats (10-4, 6-1 CC) gained possession off a turnover with 40 seconds left and called timeout after clearing the ball with 18 ticks showing. F&M then scored right off the restart with Miller striking from the right wing. The Diplomats won the ensuing face-off and picked up their first win over the Bullets since 2008.

Robby Maddux (Baltimore, Md./St. Paul's) led Gettysburg (8-6, 4-2 CC) with three goals and one assist while senior
Bobby DeWees (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends) scored three goals. Junior
Wes Lincoln (McLean, Va./Landon [Md.]) finished 17-for-26 at the X and finished with career-highs for face-offs wins and ground balls (10) while classmate
Jon Maddalone (Newtown, Pa./Choate Rosemary Hall [Conn.]) made 12 saves.
Billy Kempner and John Barney posted two goals and two assists apiece for the Diplomats while Cameron Setian recorded 10 saves.
The Bullets never trailed in the opening half and outscored the Diplomats 3-1 in the first quarter. Senior
Evan Thomas (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca) and Maddux scored 3:43 apart to make it 2-0 with 8:01 left in the stanza before Maddux struck with just two seconds on the clock.
DeWees and Maddux pushed the Bullets lead to 5-1 when they scored twice over a 2:34 spurt early in the second quarter. After a Kempner goal, Gettysburg outscored the Dips 4-2 over the remainder of the quarter to assume a 9-4 halftime advantage. Sophomore

Franklin & Marshall came out strong in the second half and outscored the Bullets 4-0 in the third quarter. The Diplomats made it a 5-0 run when Evan Baskst scored with 12:18 left in the game to tie it at 9-9.
Freshman
Mike Distler (Lutherville, Md./Loyola Blakefield) put the Bullets back on top when he potted his first collegiate goal with 10:02 on the clock. John Barney tied it up for F&M with 9:22 left before DeWees gave Gettysburg its final lead at 11-10.
The Bullets play their regular-season finale on Saturday, when they host McDaniel College on Senior Day starting 1 p.m.
