HAVERFORD, Pa. – Gettysburg scored the game's first four goals and never looked back and the 19th-ranked men's lacrosse team won 10-4 at Haverford College in its Centennial Conference (CC) opener Saturday afternoon.

Robby Maddux (Baltimore, Md./St. Paul's) scored three of the team's first four goals and finished with four tallies to lead the Bullets (4-3, 1-0 CC) while senior
Derek Ruebling (Morristown, N.J./Delbarton) and sophomore
Jameson Smith (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge) scored two goals apiece. Senior
Martin Manilla (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) contributed one goal and one assist.

Jon Maddalone (Carolina Beach, N.C./Choate Rosemary Hall [Conn.]) made eight saves for Gettysburg, with his second giving him 200 for his career, while freshman
Kyle Hewett (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) finished 10-for-16 on face-offs. Junior defensive midfielder
Jack Harvazinski (Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) picked up five ground balls.
Jack Bodine posted two goals and one assist for Haverford (1-6, 0-1 CC) while Eric Caliendo made 16 saves.
Maddux scored twice in the opening two minutes, and the Bullets' 2-0 lead would hold up for the remainder of the first quarter. Ruebling struck less than two minutes into the second quarter before Maddux scored again with 5:29 showing in the half to make it 4-0. Haverford broke up the shutout when Christian Clay scored 24 seconds later, but Manilla answered with 1:27 on the clock. Bodine's tally six seconds later drew the Fords to within 5-2 at the half.
Gettysburg broke the game open with a 4-0 run to start the second half. Ruebling and Smith scored early in the third quarter and the Bullets led 7-2 heading into the final period. Maddux potted his final goal of the day with 8:06 remaining in the game, and just over a minute later sophomore defenseman
Geoff Davis (Jefferson, Md./McDonogh School) struck with his first collegiate goal, converting in a man-down situation and pushing the Bullets' lead to 9-2.
Bodine ended Haverford's drought when he scored with 5:11 remaining before the Fords received an "own" goal with 2:06 left. Smith set the final score when he found the back of the net with 1:22 showing.
The Bullets continue their season on Wednesday, when they visit Widener University at 7 p.m. in a non-conference affair.
