Box Score CARLISLE, Pa. – Dickinson never trailed after scoring the game's first two goals and the host Red Devils pulled away in the second half to defeat 16th-ranked Gettysburg 12-7 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's lacrosse action Wednesday afternoon.
Gettysburg (7-4, 3-1 CC) outshot Dickinson 48-40 but Nick Baxter made 16 saves for the Devils (6-5, 3-1 CC), who snapped Gettysburg's five-game winning streak and handed the Bullets their first Centennial Conference loss of the season.

Derek Ruebling (Morristown, N.J./Delbarton) tied a career-high with three goals for Gettysburg while junior
Robby Maddux (Baltimore, Md./St. Paul's) added two goals and one assist. Senior
Jon Maddalone (Carolina Beach, N.C./Choate Rosemary Hall [Conn.]) made 12 saves while junior defensive midfielder
Nick Alibrandi (Fort Salonga, N.Y./St. Anthony's) picked up seven ground balls. Freshman
Kyle Hewett (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) went 13-for-22 on face-offs and also collected seven ground balls.
Brian Cannon scored five goals for Dickinson, the three-time defending conference champion, while Chris Menard tossed in three goals.
It was a tight game in the first half, which featured three ties as neither side led by more than two. After Dickinson's first two goals, Ruebling put the Bullets on the scoreboard with 8:53 left in the first quarter. Maddux and sophomore
Jameson Smith (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge) added back-to-back goals late in the quarter to make it a 3-3 game before Tyler White scored with 57 ticks showing to make it 4-3 at the end of the first period.
Senior
Martin Manilla (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) tied the game at 4-4 just 1:04 into the second quarter before Ruebling struck again with 5:15 on the clock to make it 5-all. However, the Red Devils would score the final two goals of the half, kicking off a 7-1 run that spanned over 33 minutes.
Maddux opened the scoring in the second half, converting a man-up goal with 11:40 remaining in the third quarter to make it 7-6. But the Bullets were shut out for nearly the remainder of the second half while Dickinson peeled off five straight goals to assume a 12-6 lead with 2:31 left in the game. Ruebling set the final score when he scored with 1:14 remaining.
Gettysburg returns to Centennial Conference action on Saturday, when it hosts Ursinus College at 1 p.m.
