He tied the game with a solo shot in the sixth before giving the Bullets a three-run lead with a two-run blast in the ninth. He became the first Bullet to homer twice since Mike Backus '10 in a 9-5 loss at Johns Hopkins University in 2010.
Â

Will Wortmann (Bedford, N.Y./Fox Lane) recorded the final three outs to pick up his first collegiate save.
Â
Gettysburg fell behind 6-1 after two and a half innings in the opener after the Mariners plated two runs in the first and four in the third versus sophomore starter
Brad DeMartino (Westfield, N.J./Westfield). The Bullets committed three errors in the third, which made all four runs in the inning unearned.
Â

Logan Sneed (Newtown, Pa./Germantown Academy), Anderson, senior
Henry Klimowicz (Allenhurst, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy), and senior
Steve Wright (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) all posted two hits apiece.

Chase Stopyra (Ocean, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) came on to throw a scoreless seventh.
Â
Pat Morgan (1-0) threw a complete game for Merchant Marine (2-6).
Â
The second game was a pitcher's duel early on between Bezio (2-0) and Andrew Spinnenweber, who combined to allow just two runs. Bezio opened with three scoreless innings before the Mariners pushed across one run on a single and a triple in the bottom of the fourth, taking a 1-0 lead.
Â
The Bullets pulled even in the sixth, when Anderson led off with a solo home run to left-center. Then in the ninth, Wright reached on an error leading off, was bunted to second by Lawrence, and moved to third on a single from Sneed. Junior
Connor Tom (Reinholds, Pa./Conrad Weiser) then doubled home Wright before Anderson followed up with a long ball down the leftfield line to make it 4-1.
Â
In the meantime, Bezio allowed just four baserunners from the fifth through the eighth. In the ninth, Merchant Marine led off with a double, and an error moved the runner to third. Head coach
John Campo then summoned Wortmann out of the bullpen, and the first-year promptly set the Mariners down in order, striking out a pair of batters sandwiched around an RBI-groundout.
Â
Lawrence, Sneed, Tom, Anderson, and senior
Andy Kelley (Newtown, Conn./Newtown) all roped two hits in the nightcap.
Â
Spinnenweber allowed six hits and struck out nine over six innings for the Mariners before Jeff Suciu tossed a pair of scoreless innings. Brad Suciu (0-2) yielded all three runs in the ninth and suffered the loss.
