Box Score CARLISLE, Pa. – On the strength of another stellar defensive performance, the ninth-ranked Gettysburg College men's lacrosse team earned a 9-4 Centennial Conference (CC) victory at Dickinson College Wednesday afternoon.

The Bullets (8-2, 4-0 CC), who won their sixth game in a row, have now allowed just 14 goals over four games since beginning Centennial Conference play.

Sophomore
Tim Brady (Charlotte, N.C./Providence) made 13 saves to lead Gettysburg, which yielded only one goal each quarter. The Bullets' starting defense of senior

Bill McAvoy (Villanova, Pa./Episcopal Academy), and sophomore
Cullen Minion (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) posted two ground balls and two caused turnovers each while junior long-stick midfielder
Chris Palladino (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) and freshman defensive midfielder
Ryan Kelly (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) picked up four ground balls apiece.

Jameson Smith (Glen Ridge, N.J./Glen Ridge) notched two goals and two assists for the Bullets, who outscored the Red Devils 5-1 in the second quarter to open up an 8-2 halftime advantage. Freshmen
Blake Gray (Reisterstown, Md./McDonogh School) and
Tommy Heller (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) added two goals apiece while junior
Reed Barbe (Greenwich, Conn./Suffield Academy) dished out a career-high four assists.

John Lockwood and Chris Menard finished with one goal and one assist apiece for Dickinson (6-5, 1-3 CC), which outshot the Bullets 45-37. Nick Baxter also made 13 saves for the Red Devils.

Barbe assisted on Gettysburg's first three goals of the game, and Kelly put the Bullets on the scoreboard five minutes into the contest with his first career goal. Lockwood answered with 6:12 on the clock, making it 1-1 before Smith and Gray followed up with consecutive goals to make it a 3-1 game heading into the second quarter.

The Orange and Blue continued their scoring run with the first three goals of the second quarter. Heller and senior
Mike Distler (Lutherville, Md./Loyola Blakefield) each scored a man-up goal before Heller cashed in again with 7:54 on the clock, making it a 6-1 game.

Tyler Llewellyn stopped the bleeding for Dickinson with 5:05 showing, but Gettysburg struck twice inside the final three minutes of the half, with Smith and Gray scoring to give the Bullets their six-goal lead at the break.

Menard scored a man-up goal just 34 seconds into the second half to make it an 8-3 game, but senior
Paul Werner (Westfield, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) answered for the Bullets with 9:02 left in the third quarter.

Defense would control the rest of the game, as the two sides combined for just one goal over the final 24 minutes. The Red Devils outshot the Bullets 16-6 in the fourth quarter, but that's when Brady made eight of his saves. Dylan Maher set the final score when he scored with Dickinson with 4:22 remaining.

Gettysburg returns to action on Saturday, when it hosts 16th-ranked Ursinus College at 5 p.m. in a rematch of last year's Centennial Conference championship game and second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
