GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Gettysburg College men's lacrosse team unleashed a 7-0 second-half run and claimed an emphatic 12-8 Centennial Conference (CC) victory over Washington College on Senior Day at a sweltering Shirk Field at Musselman Stadium in the regular-season finale for both teams Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Bullets (10-5, 6-2 CC) earn the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Centennial Conference playoffs and will host third-seeded Dickinson College in a semifinal on Wednesday at a time to be announced.

Gettysburg trailed 6-3 at the half and 7-4 with 6:37 left in the third quarter before their game-breaking surge, which included three man-up tallies. Sophomore
Andrew Garstka (Springfield, Va./Paul VI Catholic) buried consecutive extra-man goals to put the Bullets up for good.

Jack Harvey (New Providence, N.J./New Providence) scored four goals and handed out an assist to lead the Bullets offensively while classmate
Tommy Heller (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) added two goals and one assist.

Geoff Fulgione (North Andover, Mass./Brooks School) had a big day for Gettysburg on face-offs, finishing 15-for-22 to go with six ground balls. The Bullets also held commanding advantages in shots (54-24) and ground balls (34-21). Â

Mitch Wykoff (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe) helped pace the defense with seven ground balls while junior
Tim Brady (Charlotte, N.C./Providence) made eight saves in goal for Gettysburg.

Tanner Barbieri and Tyler Powers posted two goals and one assist apiece to lead Washington (9-7, 3-5 CC), which saw its season come to a close. Ben Flood stopped 11 shots for the Shoremen.

Gettysburg honored its 13 seniors in a ceremony prior to the start of the game.

A man-up goal from Powers handed Washington its 7-4 lead, but that's when the floodgates opened for the Bullets. Heller kicked off the run with back-to-back tallies, making it a 7-6 game heading into the fourth quarter.

Garstka opened the final stanza with his two markers, putting the hosts up 8-7 with 11:38 remaining. Sophomore
Blake Gray (Reisterstown, Md./McDonogh School) continued their surge when he cashed in unassisted with 10:28 showing. Harvey then got into the act with two goals 32 seconds apart, with Gray assisting on both tallies as Gettysburg's lead swelled to 11-7.

Barbieri stemmed the rally for Washington when he scored with 6:34 left, but it would prove to be the final goal for the Shoremen. Harvey set the final score with an empty-netter with 1:13 showing.

Washington jumped to a quick start offensively, scoring twice in the opening 10:27. Harvey put the Bullets on the scoreboard with 5:38 left in the opening quarter before freshman
Brian Kolen (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) scored with 3:06 remaining. But Washington answered with a pair of goals before the end of the quarter to assume a 4-2 advantage.

Sean Fumai (Weston, Conn./Weston) scored with 10:03 left in the first half, but Washington's Cooper Sloan converted twice over the remainder of the stanza, including a goal with 10 second left to hand the Shoremen their 6-3 halftime advantage.

Reed Barbe (Greenwich, Conn./Suffield Academy) scored for the Bullets with 11:05 left in the third quarter before Powers answered for Washington, setting up Gettysburg's big rally.

Gettysburg will be competing in the Centennial Conference tournament for the 17th year in a row. Top-seeded Franklin & Marshall will host fourth-seeded Swarthmore in the other semifinal on Wednesday, with the winners meeting at the highest remaining seed in the championship game on Saturday.
