How It Happened…
- First Half: The Fords forced three corner kicks in the first 10 minutes of action, but the Bullets were the first to take a stab at the goal. Senior Jonathan Molina (Adelphi, Md./Dematha Catholic) and Fife each posted a shot on goal that was stopped by Dylan Ioffreda during the next 10 minutes of action. Gettysburg continued to pound at the net with one going in at the 36-minute marker. Giquinto dished a pass to Fife, who punched it into the lower-left corner for the first goal of the contest. The Bullets defense did a fantastic job of keeping the Fords at bay, allowing only one shot in the opening half.
- Second Half: In a big conference contest, the second half did not disappoint as Gettysburg and Haverford continued to battle it out. Haverford opened the half with three shots with Muhic turning aside one. A Haverford defender shot into its own goal 11 minutes in to push Gettysburg's lead 2-0. Two shots and two corner kicks occurred before the next Bullets goal at the 68-minute marker. Giquinto dished another spectacular pass from the left side, this time to Midura, who drilled the shot into the right side of the net for his first of the season to extend the lead 3-0. About a minute later, the Fords collected a goal for themselves as Liam O'Malley found Paul-Andre Coulibaly to make it 3-1. The visitors would not score again and Gettysburg secured its fifth conference victory to put them in a tie for second in the CC standings
