FORESTDALE, Mass. – Senior defenseman
Andrew Horn (Bronxville, N.Y./Avon Old Farms) and sophomore midfielder
Kyle Howard (Skillman, N.J./Montgomery) each earned a spot on the Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) Division III All-Region Team it was announced on Wednesday.
Horn captured second-team honors as he was the undisputed leader of the defensive backfield for the Bullets. He totaled 18 ground balls and a team-high seven caused turnovers in five starts this spring. Horn played a pivotal role in the team's season-opening come-from-behind victory over Dickinson College with five ground balls and two caused turnovers and was named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week following his performance.
A three-time All-America, two-time All-Centennial Conference First Team selection, and the 2021 CC Defensive Player of the Year, the former transfer from the University of Vermont finished his career with 115 ground balls, 40 caused turnovers, and 10 points in 31 games.
Howard, who picked up his first United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III All-America award this season, claims his first IMLCA honorable mention accolade. He appeared in all six games this season and finished third on the team with 19 points and eight assists as a midfielder. Howard also ranked second on the squad with 11 goals and put up eight ground balls and three caused turnovers. In a victory at Washington College, Howard tallied a career-high nine points on five goals and four assists. He was also named All-CC First Team and Academic All-Centennial this spring. For his career, the sophomore posted 33 points on 16 goals and 17 assists in 13 games.
Gettysburg went 4-2 overall during the shortened season, which was the last for long-time Head Coach
Hank Janczyk. In 34 seasons at Gettysburg, Janczyk led the program to 432 wins, 26 NCAA Division III playoff appearances, and 19 conference titles. A national search is currently underway for the next head coach of the Bullets.
