Meghan Barbera (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) rounded out four players in double-digits with 10 points.

• K.K. White added 16 points and three assists.
• Shavonnie Smith finished a rebound shy of a double-double with 12 points and nine boards.
• Ashia McCalla added 12 points of her own.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• UMBC jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the game's first 2:15 behind baskets from four different players. An Alayna Arnolie 3-pointer got Gettysburg on the board with 7:31 to play before the Retrievers pushed the lead to as large as 11. Trailing 18-7, Arnolie hit her second triple with 4:31 on the clock to spark an 8-0 run that closed the deficit to three just one minute later. UMBC pushed the lead back to 26-17 before the Bullets tallied seven straight points in the final minute of the period to close to within two.
• Gettysburg tied the game for the first time on an Emily Violante second-chance layup 14 seconds into the second quarter. The hosts pushed the lead back out to four before a Mackenzie Szlosek jumper made it a 32-31 game with 5:06 to play and a Violante layup on the break gave the Bullets their first lead 37 seconds later. UMBC went back in front 35-33 but two AB Holsinger triples in the final 2:21 gave Gettysburg a 39-35 lead at the break.
• Violante extended the lead to six in the first 62 seconds of the third period. Gettysburg did not trail in the period and led by as many as six on two separate occasions.
• Trailing 55-52 after three quarters, Keelah Dixon hit a layup on UMBC's opening possession of the fourth quarter to make it a one-point game. An Arnolie layup and Holsinger trey pushed the lead back to six with 8:25 showing. The Bullets held a 62-58 lead with 7:10 to play before White hit a layup on the ensuing Retriever possession to spark the game-changing 12-0 run. Meghan Barbera halted the 3-minute, 27-second scoring drought with a jumper and Szlosek hit a 3-pointer to make it a 70-67 game with 3:26 remaining. Shinya Lee drew the game even at 77-all with a jumper in the paint off a steal with 26 ticks to play. She then blocked a shot at the other end but Nia Staples got her own rebound off the block to keep possession for the hosts. Ashia McCalla was able to hit a jumper with nine seconds left and then got a turnover on the ensuing possession to escape.
