COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Gettysburg College Men's track & field team finished seventh overall as they wrapped up competition at the Centennial Championships May 6-8th.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Friday May 6
- Mike Sutera started the first half of the Decathlon strong with Personal Bests in the 100m, Shot Put, and High Jump.
- Connor Elliot set a new Personal Best time of 32:56.59 in the 10k to become the new #8 in program history.
Saturday May 7
- Jake Dressler jumped 1.76m to take 7th in the High Jump.
- Eric Liedtka secured qualifications in the Prelim Heats of both his events. 5th for 100H in 16.49 and 5th 400H in 58.47.
- Mike Vigliano and Aidan Kierna both secured spots in the 100m dash final, running 11.23 and 11.22 respectively. Vigliano also made it through the 200m prelim in a Personal Best time of 22.14.
- Will Hopkins secured his spot in the 800 final on Sunday after running a Personal Best time of 1:56.04.
- Mike Sutera finished up the Decathlon with individual event PR's in the Pole Vault, Javelin, and 1500m and an overall Personal Best in the Decathlon with 3688 points for 7th place.
Sunday May 8
- The 4x100 relay consisting of Arthur Keegan, Caden Giordano, Mike Vigliano, and Aidan Kiernan started the final day off on the right foot with a 2nd place finish in a time of 42.38 for a new #5 in program history.
- Caden Giordano jumped to a 4th place finish in the Triple Jump with a new Personal Best of 13.05m (now tied for 10th in program history).
- Eric Liedtka took 5th in the 110 Hurdles with a time of 16.45 and set a new Personal Best while finishing 6th in the 400 Hurdles.
- Mike Vigliano had a pair of second place finished in the 100m with a time of 11.04 and the 200m and bettering his previous day's Personal Best with a new one in a time of 21.99.
- Aidan Kiernan finished the 100m dash in 11.19 for 4th place.
- Will Hopkins finished 7th in a fast 800m final with a time of 1:56.41.
- The 4x400 relay consisting of Matthew Weller, Will Hopkins, Angus Brouillard, and Eric Liedtka finished 8th in a time of 3:28.54.
The Men's Team finished with an overall score of 48 points to place 7
th out of 9 teams. Ursinus won the Centennial Conference title for the first time with a score of 215 points.
