Tonight's Centennial Conference (CC) match marks the 51st all-time meeting between Gettysburg (13-3, 1-0 CC) and No. 9 Johns Hopkins (11-3, 1-0 CC) in a series that dates back to 1985. The Bullets leads the all-time series 29-21 but the Blue Jays have won the last 15 matchups. The last Bullets victory was a 3-2 win in 2010.

WHEN LAST WE MET: Gettysburg and Johns Hopkins played five sets about as close as possible with 27 ties and 15 lead changes but, ultimately, it was a run of five consecutive points midway through the fifth set that lifted the top-seeded Blue Jays to a 3-2 victory in the 2022 Centennial Conference semifinals. LAST TIME OUT: Gettysburg and Muhlenberg traded two close sets before the Bullets won set three and four to take a 3-1 victory in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams on Friday night. Sophie Nasir racked up 28 assists to go with 17 digs. Erin Gonzalez and Kylie Ulrich led the attack with 15 and 14 kills, respectively. Christina Marcin paced the Mules' attack with 15 kills. HEAD OF THE CLASS: Kylie Ulrich and Chelsea O'Leary swept CC Players of the Week honors for last week. Ulrich earned the Offensive Player of the Week honors for the first time while O'Leary snagged the Defensive Player of the Week accolades for the second time this season. Ulrich averaged 4.43 kills per set over her the seven-set week. She totaled 31 kills, including 17 in a 3-0 win over Penn State-Altoona on Wednesday before adding 14 in a 3-1 conference-opening win at Muhlenberg. She also contributed seven blocks on the week. O'Leary averaged 6.14 digs per set in the two matches last week. After 16 digs in a 3-0 win over Penn State-Altoona on Wednesday, she put up a season-high 27 in a 3-1 win at Muhlenberg in the conference opener on Friday night.

BLOCK PARTY: The Bullets are averaging 2.22 blocks per set as a team this season, which ranks 16th in Division III. The total is best in the conference and is led by Mary Huegel's conference-leading 1.17 blocks per set. Her total is also 14th in Division III. Olivia Biggs and Catherine Holtz are also in the top five in the conference. Biggs is fourth at 0.82 while Holtz is fifth at 0.79. Gettysburg has racked up five or more total blocks in 14 of its 16 matches this season.

LAST TIME OUT: Johns Hopkins kicked off conference play with a sweep of Ursinus (25-18, 25-18, 25-15) on Saturday. Simrin Carlsen paced the Blue Jays in kills with 12 followed. Hopkins hit .250 as a team. The Jays also had success behind the service line, where Evelyn Batista and Chidinma Onukwugha registered three aces each. Defensively four different players tallied two blocks for Hopkins, holding the Bears to a -.070 hitting percentage — the lowest mark the Blue Jays have allowed this season.(Full Recap) (Box Score)

LEADING THE WAY: Johns Hopkins enters October leading the CC in nearly every offensive categories. The Blue Jays lead the league in kills (13.70 kps), assists (12.86 aps) and hitting percentage (.251) while ranking second in blocks (1.91 bps). JHU has three of the top five hitters in the conference by hitting percentage. Chidinma Onukwugha is hitting .343 to pace the CC while Simrin Carlsen and Simone Adam are fourth (.291) and fifth (.288), respectively. Carlsen is tops in kills per set at 4.50 while Adam is currently third (3.81).
