THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg scored the first nine points of the game and never looked back, defeating Washington (Md.), 70-39.

THE LEADERS
Carl Schaller (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) poured in a game- and season-high 21 points – all of which came in the first half. He drained a career-high six triples as part of his outburst. He added four steals, four rebounds and three assists.
• Freshman Ray Zamloot (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) reached double digits for the first time in his career with 12 points.

FOR THE FOES
• Precieux Tshibangu led the Shoremen with 13 points.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Behind a pair of Carl Schaller 3-pointers, Gettysburg scored the game's first nine points before Washington got on the scoreboard with a Precieux Tshibangu jumper with 12:54 showing. A Ray Zamloot 3-pointer and 11 straight points from Schaller that included three more triples accounted for a 14-0 run that extended the lead to 25-3 with 5:16 to play in the opening half. The Shoremen netted nine in a row to close to 25-12 with 94 seconds remaining but Schaller capped his 21-point opening half with a sixth trey to turn the momentum back and help the Bullets extend the lead to 33-14 at the intermission.
• Leading 35-18, Ryan McKeon (Landenberg, Pa./Sanford [Del.]) hit a jumper to spark a mini seven-point burst that stretched the lead to its largest of the game at 42-18 with 16:41 to play. A Jordan Stafford (Galloway, N.J./St. Joseph Hammonton) 3-pointer and McKeon jumper on consecutive possessions extended the lead to 30 for the first time at 61-30 with 7:23 on the clock. The lead grew as large as 33 on a Jake Bertolini-Felice (Cary, N.C./Trinity Academy of Raleigh) layup with 2:20 remaining before Jalen Wheeler hit two free throws 35 seconds later for the final margin.

THE INSIDE STORY
Jordan Stafford rounded out the double-digit scorers for the Bullets with 15 points.
• Ten different Bullets scored in the contest.
• The 39 points allowed was the fewest by Gettysburg since giving up just 32 to Haverford on Feb. 6, 2016 and the fewest Washington has ever scored against the Bullets in Chestertown. The 31-point margin of victory was the biggest for Gettysburg since the 2019-20 season opener.
