Gettysburg College Athletics

OPENING KICK: Tonight's Centennial Conference (CC) game marks the 38th meeting between Gettysburg (1-3-1, 0-1 CC) and McDaniel (3-1-2, 0-0-1 CC) in a series that dates back to 1988. The Bullets lead the all-time series 28-8-1 but the Green Terror has won the last two meetings and six of the last nine. The last Gettysburg win was a 2-1 victory in the first round of the 2019 CC tournament.

WHEN LAST WE MET: McDaniel scored in the final five seconds of the first half then added a second-half insurance goal to defeat Gettysburg 2-0 last season in Westminster. Caitlin Amman made three saves for the Bullets. Elizabeth LeChard scored the game's first goal for the Green Terror. (Full Recap) (Box Score)

LAST TIME OUT: Three Swarthmore tallies in the first half stood up for a 3-0 victory over Gettysburg in both teams' Centennial Conference opener. Samantha Grayson made six saves in goal for the Bullets. Allie Zitelli tallied one goal and one assist to lead the Garnet. (Full Recap) (Box Score)

FIRST ONE, BEST ONE: Five different Gettysburg players have found the back of the net this season. For four of those five Bullets, it was their first collegiate tallies. Senior Morgan Hobson started the trend with a goal in the opener against Goucher before sophomore Jane Daiutolo netted her first in the second game against York. In a 3-1 win at Elizabethtown last Wednesday, junior Zoe Want and freshman Steph Balerna each registered their first college goals.

LAST TIME OUT: McDaniel opened Centennial Conference play with a scoreless draw at home against Ursinus on Saturday. The Green Terror posted its fourth shutout in six games this season, including second in a row, extending the scoreless streak to 255:10. (Full Recap) (Box Score)

KEEPING IT CLOSE: McDaniel has played six games this season and none of the six have been decided by more than one goal. The Green Terror has a pair of 1-0 victories, including taking down top-ranked Messiah last Wednesday at home - the second time in three years that has happened - in addition to a 2-1 win against York. The squad has also dropped a 1-0 game against Randolph-Macon in addition to two scoreless draws. The four goals scored by the Green Terror have been scored by four different players.
