Gettysburg built a 20-point lead late in the first half and led by no fewer than 19 fore the entirety of the second half, defeating Mount Aloysius 96-78 in its first road game of the season.
THE LEADERS

Nate Williams (Morganville, N.J./St. John Vianney) led the Bullets with his fifth career 20-point outing, pouring in 21 that 17 in the first half. He also had seven assists, six rebounds and three steals.

Rassoul Abakar (Cameroon/Notre Dame Fairfield [Conn.]) added a career-high 17 points on 6 of 8 shooting that included a 5-for-7 showing from long range.

• After De'Von Haggans hit a layup on Mount Aloysius' opening possession,
Nate Williams scored five straight points to put Gettysburg in front 5-2 with 17:41 on the clock. After the Mounties retook a one-point edge, a
Kosta Radulovic (Podgorica, Montenegro/Perkiomen School [Pa.]) gave the Bullets a 7-6 lead with 15:37 showing and sparked a 10-0 run in just 2:31.

Carl Schaller (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) hit a layup and
Lorenzo Carrara (Norwood, Mass./Xaverian Brothers) canned a 3-pointer to push the advantage to double digits for the first time midway through the opening half. A 17-4 stretch over nearly five minutes extended the lead to 47-25. Haggans hit a trey to halt the run with 2:58 to play and snap a stretch of 5 minutes, 50 seconds without a field goal for the hosts. A
Jordan Stafford (Galloway, N.J./St. Joseph Hammonton) putback late in the half made it a 54-35 game at the break.
• A Carrara 3-pointer started a 7-0 burst in the first two minutes of the second half that immediately pushed the advantage to 61-35. Abakar's fourth trey of the night extended the lead to its largest at 29, giving the visitors an 80-51 cushion with 12:08 to play. Gettysburg hit the 90-point mark on Abakar's final triple, taking a 90-63 lead with 4:54 remaining but the Mounties finished the game on a 15-6 run to set the final margin.
THE INSIDE STORY

Aidan Mess (Brookeville, Md./Mt. St. Joseph's) added 10 points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots for the Bullets.
•
Lorenzo Carrara drained four 3-pointers for his first collegiate double-digit scoring game with 12 points.
• The 96 points scored were the most by the Bullets since scoring 99 on Dec. 7, 2021.
• Gettysburg shot 54.2 percent from the floor and 41.2 percent from 3-point range, hitting 14 of 34 treys. The Bullets also blocked 10 shots as a team and dished out 20 assists.
