THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked eighth in the latest D3hoops.com poll, built a 17-point second-half and staved off an attempted rally from Stevenson to record a 72-62 road win.
THE LEADERS

Jordan Stafford (Galloway, N.J./St. Joseph Hammonton) led the Bullets with 20 points, including hitting 3 of 6 from long range. He also had six rebounds and two assists.

Carl Schaller (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) contributed 18 points, five rebounds and two assists.
FOR THE FOES
• Mason Jones led the Mustangs with 18 points and 13 rebounds.
• Cameron Sapienza added 13 points and four assists.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Behind baskets from three different players, Gettysburg built a 7-0 lead in the game's first 2:15. Kole Beaman hit a layup with 14:56 on the clock to get Stevenson on the board and start a 13-5 counter that put the hosts in front by one just 3:39 later. The Bullets responded with six in a row before the Mustangs went back in front 21-20 on a Bryson Whitley driving layup with 5:59 remaining.

Rassoul Abakar (Cameroon/Notre Dame Fairfield [Conn.]) all drove and hit in a 90-second second stretch to take a five-point lead. Tied at 26-all, Schaller and Stafford both canned 3-pointers in the final 2:21 of the half to take a 32-28 lead into the break.

Kosta Radulovic (Podgorica, Montenegro/Perkiomen School [Pa.]) hit a jumper with 16:04 remaining to start a 6-0 run that put Gettysburg in front for good. The run stretched to 14-4 over a 3-minute, 13-second span to open up the first 10-point lead of the game at 49-39. Stevenson closed to within 49-43 but an Abakar triple and eight straight points from Stafford extended the advantage to its largest at 60-43 with 8:13 to play. Trailing 65-51, Cameron Smith hit a pair of layups around a Cameron Sapienza triple to make it a seven-point game with 1:59 remaining. Up 69-62, Schaller went 3-for-4 from the line to extend the lead back to double digits with 49 ticks remaining to seal the victory.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg improved to 8-0 for the first time since starting the 2001-02 season with eight straight wins.
• The Bullets, who had ascended to its highest national ranking ever on Monday, were playing their first game as a ranked team since January 2009.
• Gettysburg went 15-for-19 (78.9 percent) from the free-throw line on the night.
• The Bullets outrebounded the Mustangs 41-37 and canned 11 3-pointers to the hosts' three.
