THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg scored five runs in the first inning and held Monmouth to just three over the fourth and fifth innings for a 5-3 victory in their penultimate day of spring break competition.
THE LEADERS
•
Alexander Wilkie-Viscio (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) earned the win on the mound with 7.1 innings pitched, three earned runs, six strikeouts, and no walks.

Kody Clausius (Landenberg, Pa./Avon Grove) went 2-for-3 with a double, a run, and two RBI.
FOR THE FOES
• Aidan Parkin had a 2-for-4 day with one run scored.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Singles by
David Preziuso (Selbyville, Del./Caravel Academy) and
Jack Burke (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) plus an error loaded the bases in the bottom of the first.
Jack Pistner (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) then hit a two-RBI single to plate the Bullets' first two runs of the day. A double by Clausius with two on jumped the Bullets out to a 4-0 advantage. Clausius came home on an errant throw before the runner was tagged out for a 5-0 lead.
• Monmouth broke through in the top of the fourth. After a single by Aidan Parkin, Alexander Dy doubled to knock him in. The Fighting Scots closed the gap further in the top of the fifth on a hit by pitch, single, and sacrifice fly to trail 5-3.
• Monmouth had a runner on in the top of the ninth, but relief pitcher
Tyler Lizell (Upper Dublin, Pa./Upper Dublin) caught a pop-up for the final out of the game.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Both teams had nine hits, while Monmouth also had two errors.

Tyler Lizell picked up his first save of the season, pitching the final inning and allowing no hits.
•
Matthew Vivona (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe) was 1-for-2 at the plate with a double.
