THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg scored five runs in the first three inning and held off a late push by Albright to hold on for a 10-8 win.
THE LEADERS
•
Emmanuel Ajewole (Floral Park, N.Y./Stony Brook School) hit 1.000 (2-for-2) with two runs scored, two stolen bases, and three RBI.
•
Tyler Lizell (Upper Dublin, Pa./Upper Dublin) recorded his third save in a row with a perfect ninth inning.
FOR THE FOES
• John O'Connor went 2-of-3 with three runs, one RBI, and one walk for the Lions.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Gettysburg cracked the scoreboard first in the bottom of the second, plating four runs on five hits.
Tristan Neels (San Diego, Calif./Francis W. Parker), Ajewole, and
Robert Murphy (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Governor Livingston) started the inning off with singles to load the bases, and
Brendan Laqui (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) hit a two-RBI single to plate the first two.
David Preziuso (Selbyville, Del./Caravel Academy) followed with a double to make it a 4-0 game.
• Albright got three back in the top of the third. After a single and fielder's choice, a walk and sacrifice fly got the Lions on the board. A hit batter and single by Chris Gorla cut the deficit back to 4-3. However, the Bullets made it a 5-3 game in the bottom of the third after a Neels triple and Ajewole single.
• The visitors scored again in the top of the fifth on a triple and groundout, and Gettysburg tacked one more on in the bottom of the fifth after
Jack Burke (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) was walked, stole second, and came home on an Ajewole sacrifice fly.
• Gettysburg made the score 7-4 in the bottom of the sixth. After
Brendan Laqui (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) reached on an error, he stole third and came in on a Preziuso sacrifice fly. However, Albright tied the game 7-all in the top of the seventh. The Lions used four hits and a Bullets' error to plate three more runs.
• The Bullets regained the lead in the bottom of the inning, as Ajewole was hit by a pitch and stole his second base. An
Alexey Stout (Wall, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) double brought him home. Albright scored their final run of the game in the top of the eighth on one hit and a sacrifice fly, but two runs in the bottom of the inning gave Gettysburg the 10-8 advantage going into the final half inning. Lizell retired the first three batters he saw to end the game.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Albright recorded eight runs on eight hits, while Gettysburg used 10 hits to score their 10 runs. The Lions committed four errors while the Bullets had two.

Tristan Neels went 2-for-4 with two runs, and RBI, a triple, and a walk.
• Gettysburg stole six total bases.
