THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg scored in every inning, including plating eight in the second inning and nine in the seventh, to score the most runs since 1894 in a 29-15 win over Penn State Berks.
THE LEADERS

Will Bercaw (Kennett Square, Pa./Pennington) tallied two hits, three runs, and five RBI, along with a double and a stolen base.
FOR THE FOES
• Colin Templin went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, two doubles, and a stolen base.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Two walks, a sacrifice fly, and a
Jack Pistner (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) single scored five runs in the top of the first. The hosts got two back in the bottom on a double and an RBI groundout.
• The Bullets plated eight runs in the second inning on just two hits from, coming from Pistner and
Tristan Neels (San Francisco, Calif./Francis W. Parker), to lead 13-2. Gettysburg then used a single from
Brian Andersen (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham) to make it a 15-2 score in the third inning. Singles from Neels and
Robert Murphy (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Governor Livingston) widened the gap to 17-2 in the top of the fourth. Penn State Berks got four back in the bottom of the inning, tallying three hits to close within 11 runs.
• Hits by
Kody Clausius (Landenberg, Pa./Avon Grove) and
Jack Amirata (Montclair, N.J./Montclair Kimberley Academy) drove in two more runs in the top of the fifth, and the visitors scored three runs in the bottom for a 19-9 score.
• In the sixth inning, Gettysburg scored just one run while Penn State Berks plated six to close within five runs, the closest margin since the beginning of the game, as they trailed 20-15.
• The Bullets had their biggest inning in the top of the seventh, scoring nine runs on hits by
Alexey Stout (Wall, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy), Murphy, and Bercaw. Gettysburg then held the Lions to no runs in the bottom of the inning for the 29-15 final.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg tallied 15 hits and two errors. Penn State Berks had 13 hits and five errors.
• 29 runs are the most scored by Gettysburg in the era of NCAA competition.
