LANCASTER, Pa. – Seven members of the Gettysburg men's swimming team have been named to the All-Centennial Conference (CC) team by virtue of their finishes at the championship on Feb. 22-25.
Sam Nelson (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg Area) earned first-team honors.
Luke McKenna (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford),
Declan Sheeran (McLean, Va./McLean) and
John Verosko (Gainesville, Va./Patriot) earned second-team accolades while Sheeran,
Max McAlister (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy),
Edward Kim (Weston, Conn./Weston) and
Mason Dillon (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) were honorable mention honorees.
Nelson won the 1,650 freestyle on Sunday night, posting a time of 15:52.62 for the Bullets' lone gold medal of the weekend.
McKenna was right behind Nelson in the 1,650, finishing second with a time of 15:57.10.
Later Sunday night, Sheeran nabbed silver in the 200 breaststroke with a program-record time of 2:00.80, shattering his previous mark by nearly two seconds. On Saturday, Sheeran was third in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 55.92 seconds.
Verosko recorded the first individual medal of the weekend, claiming silver in the 500 freestyle on Friday night. He posted a time of 4:33.83 to place second.
Dillon, Kim and McAlister made it four bronze medals on Saturday night at the championships.
Dillon was third in the 400 IM with a program-record time of 4:02.54.
McAlister then notched a bronze in the 100 butterfly with a time of 49.73 seconds.
Kim rounded out the group with a third-place showing in the 100 backstroke and time of 51.00 seconds.
