THE SKINNY STORY
Washington and Lee, ranked 12th in the latest USILA poll, outscored Gettysburg, ranked seventh, in three of four quarters. The Generals started the day with a 6-0 advantage after one quarter and rolled to a 15-8 final.
THE LEADERS

Jack Dunleavy (New Providence, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) led the Bullets with three goals and one assist.
FOR THE FOES
• Alex Brown scored five goals for the Generals.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Sam Mannino scored first for the Generals just under five minutes into the first quarter. Washington and Lee added over a goal a minute over the next 4 minutes, 20 seconds, including two within eight seconds, to lead 6-0 after one quarter.

Luke Barbera (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) cracked the scoreboard on an unassisted run, but the Generals countered just two minutes later. Neither team scored for the next eight minutes before James Haley connected with Alex Brown to give Washington and Lee an 8-1 lead. A ripper by
Jack Dunleavy (New Providence, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) made it a six-goal gap before Hillis Burns added another for the visitors just 30 seconds later.
• In the first possession of the second half, Tyler Spano won the faceoff and went straight to cage, scoring Washington and Lee's 10th goal just nine seconds in.
Quinton Mather (Avon, Conn./Avon Old Farms) tried to keep the Bullets in it, scoring two back-to-back for a 10-4 deficit. With just 27 seconds left,
Ethan Kessler (Ridgefield, Conn./Millbrook School) added to his assist on Mather's second goal a goal of his own to trail by five goals going into the final quarter.
• Washington and Lee stopped the Bullets' three-goal run with three straight of their own, adding tallies from Burns, Brown, and Haley within just a 40 second span. Burns chipped in another goal with 11:52 showing. With under 10 minutes to play, Gettysburg took advantage of a two-man up opportunity as
Charlie Johnson (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) slipped a pass from Dunleavy into the net. Dunleavy added another unassisted goal 90 seconds later. Haley and Dunleavy each scored in the final five minutes of play for a 15-8 Generals win.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Gettysburg outshot Washington and Lee 48-32. Washington and Lee had 23 shots on goal while only 16 of Gettysburg's were on the mark.
• Tyler Spano won 20 faceoffs for the visitors, while Gettysburg's faceoff unit won just seven total.
