FIRST PITCH: Today's Centennial Conference (CC) doubleheader marks the 67th and 68th all-time meetings between Gettysburg (16-6, 3-1 CC) and Muhlenberg (16-11, 3-5 CC) in a series that dates back to 1994. The Bullets lead the all-time series 40-26 and swept last year's doubleheader to snap a three-game Mule winning streak.

LAST SEASON'S SERIES: Gettysburg recorded a run-rule shutout in the opener before holding on to complete the sweep of Muhlenberg in game two, 3-2. The Bullets captured game one, 8-0. Julia Smith led the Bullets with four hits on the afternoon, recording to two knocks in each game with four total RBIs. Paige Forry picked up the game one victory in the circle and closed out game two for a save. Kaya Mahy led the Mules with two hits on the day and a game-two RBI. (Full Recap) (Game 1 Box) (Game 2 Box)

LAST TIME OUT: Gettysburg watched a 7-1 lead evaporate before plating five runs in the top of the ninth inning for a 14-11 victory in the first game of a scheduled doubleheader at York (Pa.) on Tuesday. The second game was halted after four complete innings with the Spartans in front 6-1 after a six-run second inning. The teams expect to complete the game at a future date. Allegra DeCandia led the Bullets with three hits and career-high six RBIs. Gretchen Barstad led the Spartans with three hits of her own, adding a pair of RBIs and three runs scored. (Full Recap) (Game 1 Box Score)

WITH HONORS: Giovanna Komst and Megan Hughes swept the CC Player of the Week honors on Tuesday. Komst led the Bullets to a sweep of Haverford on Saturday, going 4-for-6 at the plate. She had two extra-base hits, including the go-ahead home run in the seventh inning of game one. Hughes led Gettysburg in the circle in game two on Saturday. She threw a complete-game three-hitter to complete the sweep. She struck out four and did not walk a batter in 5.0 innings of work, holding the Fords to a .150 batting average.

TIME TO SPRINT: After weather has wreaked havoc with the recent schedule, Gettysburg is now facing a stretch of 10 conference games in the next 11 days after only having played four since the season started two weeks ago. The stretch starts at home this afternoon with two against Muhlenberg before road trips to Dickinson on Tuesday, McDaniel on Thursday and Washington on Saturday. It concludes at home against Franklin & Marshall on Tuesday, Apr. 23. The Bullets are currently 3-1 in the conference standings with Washington as the only remaining undefeated. Dickinson is 4-2. The other three teams in the next stretch of games for Gettysburg are a combined 5-13.

LAST TIME OUT: Muhlenberg came back twice in the second game of its home doubleheader on Tuesday but lost to Ursinus 7-3 after falling in game one, 5-1. (Full Recap) (Game 1 Box Score) (Game 2 Box Score)

STEALING THE SHOW: In the fifth inning of game two on Tuesday, senior Sophia Cicchetti singled with one out to extend her hitting streak to 22 games. The next batter, freshman Peri Kahn, faked a bunt and chopped the ball to third. She was retired at first, but Cicchetti wheeled around to third and then stole home on a slow throw back to the pitcher from the catcher with the next batter at the plate. It was the 32nd stolen base of the season for Cicchetti, tying a school record set 25 years ago. Stolen bases in the doubleheader by junior Kaya Mahy, Cicchetti, Gabby Colder and freshman Lillie Teague gave the Mules 74 swipes on the season, breaking the school record of 72 set in 2010.
