THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg used a 17-5 run that spanned both halves to open up a 16-point lead and then hit 17 of its 25 second-half free throws for a 69-62 win over Swarthmore.
THE LEADERS

Carl Schaller (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) led the Bullets with 19 points, including going to the free-throw line 12 times for the second straight game, converting 10 of those attempts.

Nate Williams (Morganville, N.J./St. John Vianney) added 18 points.
FOR THE FOES
• Eddie Paquette led the Garnet with 13 points and seven rebounds.
• Zander Jimenez also added 13 points and five boards, going 9-for-10 from the line.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• After a back-and-forth start to the game,
Lorenzo Carrara (Norwood, Mass./Xaverian Brothers) hit two free throws before a
Nate Williams steal-and-layup began a run that turned a 7-6 edge into 15-6 lead with 13:36 remaining. A
Jordan Stafford (Galloway, N.J./St. Joseph Hammonton) free throw made it a 19-9 game before five straight from Eddie Paquette cut the deficit in half. Cal Hanson trimmed the margin to 23-19 on a second-chance layup with 2:55 to play in the opening half before Stafford drove and converted a three-point play at the other end, starting a run that helped open up a 32-21 halftime lead.
Carl Schaller had five points during the 9-2 burst.
• Williams and Schaller bookended an 8-3 continuation with triples over the first 3:08 of the second half. Swarthmore responded with a 13-3 stretch over 4:39 to close to within six. The final six of those 13 points came from the charity stripe. Four Gettysburg free throws and an
Akim Joseph (Port-au-Prince, Haiti/Notre Dame Fairfield [Conn.]) helped push the lead back to 49-37 with 8:49 to play. The Garnet once again closed to six behind a pair of Jonathan Stump 3-pointers but the Bullets once again had the response, using a flurry of eight quick points to make it a 59-45 game with 4:22 remaining. The lead remained larger than nine points until Brady Kageyama drove to the hoop with 1:25 to play and then hit two free throws with 31 ticks left to make it 66-60. Another Paquette drive-and-score made it a four-point game but Schaller and Stafford combined to hit three of four free throws in the final 20 seconds for the seven-point win.
THE INSIDE STORY
• There were 65 free throws attempted in the game. Swarthmore went 18 of 27 while Gettysburg was 27 of 38.
• The Bullets limited Swarthmore to 26.5 percent shooting in the first half and 30.6 percent for the game.

Jordan Stafford finished with seven points, five rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots.
•
Kosta Radulovic (Podgorica, Montenegro/Perkiomen School [Pa.]) added eight rebounds and three blocked shots to his four points.
