THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg had a pair of individual champions and five finishers in the top three of their respective weight classes to finish second at the season-opening Tonee Ellis Invitational hosted by Alvernia. The Bullets totaled 209.5 points at the 15-team invitational.

THE LEADERS
• Brendan Callahan (Woolrich Twp., N.J./Kingsway Regional) won at 141 with a 5-0 day that included a pin and two technical falls. His day started with a 16-0 win over Richard Morales (Alfred State) before a 39-second pin in the second round. After a 4-0 win over Kutztown's Logan Hrenenko, Callahan notched his second technical fall of the day by a 16-0 score in the semifinals. In the title tilt, Callahan edged Shippensburg's Cole Coffin, 2-0.
• Simon Taylor (Alexandria, Va./Woodbury Forest School) added a title at 285 with a 4-0 day. After opening with a bye, he recorded a 7-2 win over Albright's Michael Troupe. A 46-second pin moved Taylor into the semifinals, where he worked a 7-1 victory. Taylor then made it back-to-back 7-1 decisions, defeating Owen Reber (Alvernia) in the championship bout.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Ethan Composto (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) moved up to 174 this season and placed second in his debut at the weight class. His day started with back-to-back technical falls 21-5 in the third period and 18-3 in the second period. He then added a 12-3 major decision over Shippensburg's Anthony DeAngelo before notching an 8-6 win in the semifinals over Kutztown's Tom Grimley. The Golden Bears' Dalton Gimbor topped Composto in the title tilt, 10-4.
• Peyten Reese (Tabernacle, N.J./Seneca) made his debut with a third-place finish at 133. He started his day with back-to-back first-period falls, winning in 2:48 and 2:01. Reese added a 6-4 win by decision in the quarterfinals before falling 22-2 in the semifinals to Eastern's Malik Asfour. In the third-place bout, Reese defeated Kaden Casey (Shippensburg), 8-0.
• Jake Mitchell (Enola, Pa./Cumberland Valley) also finished third in his debut. He received a bye to start his day at 149 before recording a 17-2 technical fall in the second period. In the quarterfinals, Mitchell recorded a 10-1 major decision before falling to Kutztown's Joey Ortega 8-6 in the semifinals. In the third-place match, Mitchell recorded a 1-minute, 33-second fall of Muhlenberg's Eoghan Ohara.
