GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Five members of the Gettysburg men's soccer team were named to the Division III Academic All-District men's soccer team, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), announced recently.
Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on Dec. 16.
The following Bullets men's soccer players were honored as part of the program:
- Junior James Blake (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East), a mathematical economics major
- Sophomore Liam Hedinger (Charlotte, N.C./Providence Day School [Ga.]), an economics and international and global studies major
- Senior Sean Kennedy (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson), a business, organizations and management major
- Senior Cole McCartney (Voorhees, N.J./St. Joseph's Prep), a business, organizations and management and economics major
- Sophomore Max Williams (Montclair, N.J./Seton Hall Prep), a mathematical economics major
McCartney earned his third straight honor after also being selected as a sophomore and junior while Blake earned his second straight nod.
To be nominated for the Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or significant reserve. Up to six eligible student-athletes per institution can be selected to the all-district team.
