KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Three members of the Gettysburg men's soccer team have been named to the All-Region V team by the United Soccer Coaches, released on Tuesday.
Julius Rigo (Coatesville, Pa./Collegium Charter School) earned third-team honors while
Cameron Linnington (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) and
Finn Hoefer (New York, N.Y./Grace Church School) claimed fourth-team accolades.
Rigo, a freshman forward, was an honorable mention All-Centennial Conference (CC) honoree and is making his first appearance on the all-region team. He appeared in all 19 games with 12 starts. He was tied for the team lead with six goals and led the team with five assists and 17 points. He debuted with five goals in his first four collegiate games, including tallying twice in a 2-0 win over Neumann on Aug. 30.
Linnington, a freshman midfielder, was a first-team all-conference player and is making his first appearance on the all-region team. He appeared in all 19 games with seven starts. He was tied for the team lead with six goals and added an assist to rank second on the team with 13 points. He scored a goal in four straight games between Oct. 14 and 25.
Hoefer, a freshman forward, was a second-team All-CC player and is making his first appearance on the all-region team. He appeared in all 19 games with 11 starts. He was third on the team with five goals and 11 points, adding one assist. He had a three-game scoring streak between Oct. 22 and Nov. 1.
The Bullets finished the season with an overall record of 10-6-3 (4-2-3 CC) and advanced to the CC semifinals.
