THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg opened the indoor track and field season with four top-three finishes at the Diplomat Open hosted by Franklin & Marshall.
THE LEADERS
- Andres Nunez-Castaneda (Morrisville, Pa., Notre Dame) led the Bullets with a first place finish in the 400 with a Centennial Conference (CC)-qualifying time of 52.03 seconds.
- Liam O'Meara (Ridgewood, N.J., Ridgewood) placed second in pole vault with a CC-qualifying height of 4.45 meters. He also came in 36th with a time of 7.46 seconds in the 60 meter prelims however, he did not start in the finals.
- Jack Rogers (Gaithersburg, Md., Our Lady Of Good Counsel) finished third in the 3,000 with a time of 9:38.05.
- Nunez-Castaneda, Kyle Northrup (New Hope, Pa., New Hope-Solebury), Adam Balthaser (Mohnton, Pa., Governor Mifflin), and Rouri Takahashi (Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, Japan, Wilbraham & Monson Academy) combined to place third in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:36.86.

- It was a non-scoring meet.
THE REST OF THE STORY
- Mark Overlander (Marietta, Pa., Donegal) came in fifth in pole vault with a CC-qualifying height of 4.00 meters.
- Maddon McNicholas (Morgantown, Pa., Twin Valley) placed seventh in the 5,000 with a CC-qualifying time of 15:40.06. Jack Taylor (Mohnton, Pa., Twin Valley) finished a few places behind in tenth with a CC-qualifying time of 16:07.19
- Carter Harff (Pittsford, N.Y., Pittsford Mendon) completed the 200 with a CC-qualifying time of 23.64 seconds placing 12th. He also finished 29th in the 60 meter prelims with a time of 7.40 seconds however, he did not start in the finals.
- Asher Leuzzi (Weston, Conn., Weston) came in 12th in the 5,000 with a CC-qualifying time of 16:11.13. Colin Carpenter followed Leuzzi placing 14th with a CC-qualifying time of 16:17.54.
- Andrew Oshetski (Freeport, Maine, Freeport) finished 12th in the shot put with a CC-qualifying throw of 12.17 meters. He also came in 37th in the weight throw with a toss of 10.24 meters.
- Adam Balthaser (Mohnton, Pa., Governor Mifflin) placed 15th in the 400 with a CC-qualifying time of 55.14 seconds.
- Robby Allen (Sparta, N.J.) finished 15th in high jump with a CC-qualifying leap of 1.75 meters.
- Kyle Northrup (New Hope, Pa., New Hope-Solebury) completed the 200 with a CC-qualifying time of 24.09 seconds to place 23rd.
THE INSIDE STORY
- Baxter Merriam (Scarborough, Maine, Scarborough) came in 12th in the 800 with a time of 2:05.12. Mick Lorenger followed behind in 13th with a time of 2:05.32.
- Matthew Wagner (Downingtown, Pa., Downingtown STEM Academy) finished 14th in the 3,000 with a time of 10:34.33.
- John Murphy IV (Grantham, N.H., Northfield Mount Hermon School) placed 23rd in the 5,000 with a time of 16:56.72.
- Stefano Orlando (Norwalk, Conn., New Canaan) came in 23rd in the long jump with a leap of 5.55 meters. He also completed the 60 meter prelims with a time of 7.43 seconds placing 34th however, he did not start in the finals. Orlando came in 32nd in shot put with throw of 10.82 meters.
- Andrew Ersin (Wynnewood, Pa., Lower Merion) finished 25th in the 5,000 with a time of 17:10.28.
- Nick Glass (Haworth, N.J., Northern Valley Regional-Demarest) placed 26th in the 60 meter prelims with a time of 7.39 seconds however, he did not start in the finals. He also competed in the 200 finishing 52nd with a time of 25.35 seconds.
- Ben Cole (Wilmington, Del., Archmere Academy) came in 36th in the 5,000 with a time of 18:05.69. Matthew Kurek was right behind him with a time of 18:14.61 to finish in 37th.
- Henry Mahoney (Saco, Maine, Thornton Academy) placed 43rd in the weight throw with a toss of 9.22 meters. He also finished 54th in shot put with a throw of 9.07 meters.
