THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg recorded a walkoff win the opener 6-5 before completing a run-rule victory in the nightcap, finishing off a 19-8 win in the eighth inning to sweep Albright.
THE LEADERS
•
Jack Burke (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) led the Bullets with a 5-for-7 afternoon, adding five runs scored and two RBIs in the doubleheader.
•
Matt Nichols (White Plains, N.Y./Byram Hills) went 4-for-5 with four RBIs in game two.
FOR THE FOES
• Roman Berretta had six hits on the day to lead the Lions, including a four-hit nightcap.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• In game one, Roman Berretta led off the game with a single before a Jack Gilmer double put runners at second and third. A sacrifice fly and Max Frank two-out single staked Albright to a 2-0 lead.
• The Lions doubled the lead in the third on a two-run Tommy Lewman double with nobody out.

Jack Burke and
Adam Hicks (Edgewater, Md./Gilman School) led off the home third with singles before a stolen base and wild pitch got Gettysburg on the board.
•
Matthew Vivona (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe) doubled to start the fourth before moving to third on a sacrifice and scoring on a dropped sacrifice fly to make it 4-2.
• In the sixth inning,
Will Stellato (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Warde) was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning before
Alexey Stout (Wall, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) singled to put two on. Vivona singled home Stellato before a
Michael Fischetti (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) pinch-hit sacrifice fly tied the game at 4-all.
• Burke singled to start the seventh before a sacrifice, flyout and wild pitch put the Bullets in front for the first time.
• Albright responded in the eighth with a Jack Gilmer leadoff home run to right field.
• In the bottom of the ninth, Burke reached on a one-out error before a hit batter and stolen base moved him to third with one down. After an intentional walk, a wild pitch scored Burke with the game-winning run.
• In game two,
Will Roche (Milton, Mass./Boston College H.S.) and
Brian Andersen (Chester, N.J./West Morris Mendham) drew walks around a
Matt Nichols single to load the bases with no outs in the second.
Robert Murphy (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Governor Livingston) singled to center to score two runs before Burke and Hicks added RBI groundouts for a 4-0 lead.
• A Gilmer RBI groundout and Aidan Sturtevant sacrifice fly made it 4-2 in the top of the third before Gettysburg got one back on a double play that allowed
Jack Pistner (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) to score.
• Berretta scored Ian VanBrookhaven with a single to center to make it 5-3 in the fourth. A Nichols two-run home run capped a four-run fifth, though, for the Bullets that extended the lead to 9-3.
• The Lions, however, responded with four in the sixth to close to within two. Berretta and Nick Barton keyed the inning with run-scoring doubles.
• A Burke home run in the home sixth and Zander Tesoriere infield RBI single in the seventh made it 10-8.
• Nichols led off the home eighth with a home run. After one out, six straight singles made it a 16-8 game. A two-out Nichols single scored Stout before
Hunter Del Guercio blasted a pinch-hit, two-run home run to end the game.

Matthew Vivona had three hits in the opener while
Jack Burke and
Alexey Stout had two each.
• In addition to
Matt Nichols' four-hit game two, Burke had three while
Adam Hicks,
Will Stellato,
Jack Pistner and
Robert Murphy each had two. Pistner added three RBIs.
