FIRST PITCH: Today's non-conference doubleheader marks the 37th and 38th all-time meetings between No. 17 Gettysburg (20-3) and York (Pa.) (8-1) in a series that dates back to 1981. The Bullets lead the all-time series 24-12 and won two of three meetings last year. 

WHEN LAST WE MET: After completing a halted game from Apr. 9 and falling 6-2, Gettysburg won the third game of the season series against York (Pa.) 6-3 on Apr. 25. Jordan Pansy led the Bullets with a 3-for-4 outing the final game. Emily Bakker added three hits of her own to go with three RBIs. Gretchen Barstad went 3-for-3 to lead the Spartans. LAST TIME OUT: Gettysburg scored five runs in consecutive innings to key a 14-2 run-rule game one win over Washington (Md.) before earning the sweep in game two 5-3 on Saturday. Elliana Hopple recorded four hits and seven RBIs on the days, including a three-hit, five-RBI game one. Gracelyn Goforth led the Shorewomen with three hits and an RBI on the day. NO. 17 WITH A BULLET: Gettysburg rose to 17th in last week's NFCA Div. III coaches' poll on Tuesday. The Bullets debuted at 24th two weeks ago before rising to 21st last week. The No. 17 national ranking is not only the best in program history but it is the highest known ranking for any Centennial Conference softball team.

A SIMPLE GAME: It's a simple game for a team that can hit and pitch. As April starts, Gettysburg finds itself at the top of the conference ranks as a team in both hitting and pitching. The Bullets have a conference-best .340 batting average and a CC-best 1.63 team ERA. In total, Gettysburg leads the conference in no fewer than 11 statistical categories, including scoring (6.48 runs per game), on-base percentage (.416) and WHIP (1.06). 

LAST TIME OUT: York split a non-conference doubleheader at DeSales on Sunday. The Spartans won the opener 8-0 in six innings before the Bulldogs bounced back to earn the split with a 3-1 win in the nightcap. (Full Recap) (Game 1 Box) (Game 2 Box)

SPLITSVILLE: York has split its last three doubleheaders this season. Before Sunday's split at DeSales, the Spartans traded a pair of close home games with Hood. The Blazers took game one 3-1 before York captured game two, 6-5. Last Wednesday, it was a split at Susquehanna where the Spartans won 11-5 before falling 8-0 in five innings. York has just one doubleheader sweep in its favor this spring, taking two from Albright in the MAC Commonwealth opener on Mar. 15 by scores of 4-2 and 10-2.
