THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked 21st in the latest D3baseball.com poll, scored 11 runs in the top of the first inning before McDaniel came back to take a 17-16 lead in the sixth innings. The Bullets, however, regained the lead in the top of the seventh with a four-run frame and held on to win, 21-17.
THE LEADERS

Jack Pistner (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) led the barrage with a Centennial Conference record-tying three home runs and seven RBIs for the Bullets.

Jack Burke (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) had four hits, three RBIs and three runs scored.

• Ben Davis led the Green Terror with a 5-for-5 day, adding three runs scored and two RBIs.
THE REST OF THE STORY

Jack Burke and
Jack Pistner led off the game with back-to-back home runs on consecutive pitches for an early 2-0 lead.
Will Stellato (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Warde) and
Jack Amirata (Montclair, N.J./Montclair Kimberley Academy) followed with consecutive singles. After a flyout,
Matt Nichols (White Plains, N.Y./Byram Hills) and
Will Roche (Milton, Mass./Boston College H.S.) each singled before a
Brendan Laqui (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) two-run single made it 5-0. After a
Robert Murphy (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Gov. Livingston) single, Burke followed with a two-run double for a 7-0 lead and his 100th career hit. Pistner then hit his second home run of the inning for a three-run shot. Stellato walked and stole second before scoring on a two-out Nichols single to cap the 11-run top of the first.
• Joey Hubinger walked to lead off the home first before Henry Novario and Ben Davis singled. An Ethan Haddock sacrifice fly made it 11-2. Shea McKenna singled before a two-run, two-out double from Quinn Dean closed the gap to 11-4. A Matt Fuller single, Shane Daly double and Hubinger triple made it 11-7 before Hubinger scored on a Davis single to cap a first inning that saw a combined 19 runs and 19 hits.
• Singles from Laqui and Burke coupled with a Pistner walk loaded the bases with one out in the second. Amirata was hit by a pitch with two outs to make it 12-8.
• McDaniel made it 12-9 in the home second behind two walks around a Dean single and Daly RBI groundout.
• Nichols walked to start the third before a wild pitch and two ground outs made it 13-9. Murphy and Burke both singled and Pistner followed with his third home run in three innings to tie the conference record for roundtrippers in a game to make it 16-9.
• Doubles from McKenna and Hubinger keyed a six-run bottom of the third that closed the deficit to 16-15.
• A Dean triple and Fuller double to start the home fifth tied the game before Davis led off the sixth with a triple and scored on a Haddock single for a 17-16 lead.
• Amirata singled with one out in the top of the seventh before back-to-back walks loaded the bases. Roche turned the one-run deficit into a one-run lead with a double before Laqui doubled down the line for a 20-17 lead.
• A Roche one-out single, sacrifice and Murphy RBI single in the top of the ninth set the final margin.
THE INSIDE STORY
• The 38 combined runs is the most in the 132 games of the all-time series.
• All 18 starters in the game had at least one hit and 15 had multiple-hit days. Five Gettysburg starters finished with three or more hits. In addition to
Jack Burke and
Jack Pistner,
Will Roche,
Brendan Laqui and
Robert Murphy all had three knocks. It was Laqui's first career three-hit game. He also added five RBIs.

Tyler Lizell (Upper Dublin, Pa./Upper Dublin) pitched the final three for his fifth save of the year.
