THE SKINNY STORY
Franklin & Marshall jumped out to a 5-1 lead through three innings and stranded the tying run on base in the top of the ninth inning to defeat Gettysburg, 7-5.
THE LEADERS

Matt Nichols (White Plains, N.Y./Byram Hills) had two hits to lead the Bullets, including a one-out single in the ninth to start a stretch of four straight players to reach base.
FOR THE FOES
• Nick Lorenzo led the Diplomats with a 3-for-4 day that included three runs scored.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Nick Lorenzo led off the bottom of the second inning with a single before moving to second on a sacrifice. After taking third on a wild pitch and walk to have runners at the corners with one out. Vincent Mariniello reached on a bunt single to score Lorenzo for a 1-0 lead.

Jack Pistner (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) drew a one-out walk in the top of the third before scoring on a
Will Stellato (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Warde) double to tie the game.
• Singles from Matt Hollender and Lorenzo around two free passes with one out gave Franklin & Marshall a 2-1 lead in the home third. A sacrifice fly and Mariniello single made it 4-1 before a first-third delayed steal made it 5-1.

Jack Burke (Montclair, N.J./Montclair), Pistner and Stellato put together three straight singles with one out in the fifth to cut the deficit to 5-2.
• A two-run Andrew Filippelli double stretched the lead to 7-2 in the bottom of the frame.
• Gettysburg had multiple runners on in each of the next three innings but couldn't score until
Jack Amirata (Montclair, N.J./Montclair Kimberley Academy) led off the ninth with a single. A one-out
Matt Nichols single up the middle put two on before
Will Roche (Milton, Mass./Boston College H.S.) single down the line made it 7-3. A hit batter loaded the bases and
Robert Murphy (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Gov. Livingston) singled home Nichols to make it 7-4. A Burke RBI fielder's choice made it 7-5 with two on and two out but Dan Galef got a popup to earn the save.
THE INSIDE STORY

Jack Pistner and
Will Stellato added two hits each. Stellato also drove in two. Pistner enters the final weekend of the regular season needing two hits for 200 in his career and six to tie the career record of 204.
