FIRST PITCH: Today's Centennial Conference (CC) game marks the 120th all-time meeting between No. 13 Gettysburg (22-3, 1-2 CC) and No. 4 Johns Hopkins (21-3, 2-1 CC) in a series that dates back to 1902. The Blue Jays lead the all-time series 66-52-1 and have won 17 of the last 18 meetings. The lone Bullet victory in that stretch was a 14-8 home win on Apr. 15, 2022.

LAST SEASON'S SERIES: Johns Hopkins used a five-run fourth inning to erase and early 5-3 Gettysburg lead on the way to a 13-8 win in the first game of the home-and-home series in Baltimore. Robert Murphy led the Gettysburg offense, hitting 3-for-5 with a double, a run, and a stolen base. Caleb Cyr paced the Blue Jays with a 3-for-3 day, including two home runs. He notched four RBI and drew two walks. In the return engagement in Gettysburg, the Bullets struck first to lead Johns Hopkins 3-0 after two innings, but the Blue Jays scored six runs in the top of the third and led the rest of the way for a 13-4 final. Brendan Laqui tallied two extra-base knocks, a triple and a double, in his first two at bats of the game. He also drove in three runs. LAST TIME OUT: Johns Hopkins, ranked fourth, broke open a 1-0 game with three runs in the fifth inning to help defeat No. 13 Gettysburg 9-0 on Tuesday in Baltimore. NO. 13 WITH A BULLET: Gettysburg has ascended in the D3baseball.com poll since entering the poll two weeks ago. After debuting at No. 21, the Bullets moved to 15th last week and sit at 13th this week. It is the highest ranking in program history.

JACK OF ALL TRADES: Jack Burke enters today's game on a 13-game hitting streak and leads the team with a .427 average. He has 41 hits in the 25 games played this season. He also paces the squad with 44 runs scored and 11 doubles. He has added a triple and three home runs to go with 28 RBIs. His .656 slugging percentage in second best on the team. Another Jack - Jack Pistner - is also hitting .400 on the year with a team-high 46 RBIs. He also leads the team with four home runs and four triples. In total, 14 of his 38 hits have gone for extra bases.

PITCHING RULES THE DAY: Johns Hopkins enters this weekend's play with the top pitching staff in the conference. The Blue Jays have a league-best 2.38 staff ERA. In 24 games, Johns Hopkins in the only staff to eclipse 200 strikeouts, entering today with 217 Ks. They have also walked just 48 as a collective unit. They also have a CC-high three shutouts. Drew Grumbles and Kieren Collins lead the corps with sub-1.00 ERAs. Grumbles has a 0.25 ERA and is 5-0 in six starts with 50 strikeouts and just six walks. Collins has a 0.77 ERA and is 4-1 in six starts. He has 26 strikeouts and just five walks.
