THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg, ranked 16th in the latest D3baseball.com poll, scored three runs in the eighth inning to open up a five-run lead and ultimately defeat Dickinson, 7-3.
THE LEADERS

Jack Burke (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) led the Bullets two hits and three RBIs on the day.

Brendan Trotta (Manhasset, N.Y./Manhasset) allowed just two runs in six innings of work to pick up the win on the hill.
FOR THE FOES
• Ryan Thompson led the Red Devils with three hits and also drew a walk.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Ryan Thompson took the first pitch of the game on a line into shallow left field before moving to third on a one-out Kevin Schmidt double and scoring on a bases-loaded walk to Luke Gartland to stake Dickinson to a 1-0 lead.
• In the bottom of the second,
Will Roche (Milton, Mass./Boston College H.S.) drew a one-out walk before scoring on a two-out
Robert Murphy (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Gov. Livingston) double to the gap.
Jack Burke followed with a double off the wall to trade places with Murphy and give Gettysburg a 2-1 lead.
• Schmidt started the third with a single before moving to second on a sacrifice and scoring on a Kaden Sigmon double to tie the game.
• An error and
Jack Pistner (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) infield single put two runners on to start the fifth inning.
Will Stellato (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Warde) followed with a perfectly placed bunt single to load the bases. After a strikeout,
Dominick Balsamo (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xaverian) lofted a double to right-center to score Burke and Pistner for a 4-2 lead.
• With two outs in the home eighth, Roche singled before a walk and pair of errors made it 5-2 with runners at second and third. Burke followed with a single to right to score both runners and make it 7-2.
• Shawn Ameja was hit by a pitch to lead off the ninth before a wild pitch and Josh Markley single up the middle set the final score at 7-3.
THE INSIDE STORY

Dominick Balsamo added two RBIs on the day.

Jack Pistner chipped in two hits.

Tyler Lizell (Upper Dublin, Pa./Upper Dublin) got the final five outs to record his fourth save of the year.
• The conclusion of the home-and-home series in Carlisle has been postponed until Sunday at 1 p.m. due to the forecast for heavy rains on Friday.
