THE REST OF THE STORY
• Daniel Friedel opened the scoring just 57 seconds in, staking Muhlenberg to an early 1-0 lead. With 12:20 on the clock,
Jackson Hearn (Houston, Texas/Episcopal Bellaire) found
Jackson Alpaugh from behind to even the game at 1-all and start a 6-0 run. Hearn then added a goal to his assist just over three minutes later before
Jack Dunleavy (New Providence, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) dished off the first of his game-high four helpers to
Matt Maciolek (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) for a 3-1 lead with 5:17 showing.
Ethan Kessler (Ridgefield, Conn./Millbrook School) made it 4-1 after one quarter, finding the back of the net with 71 ticks remaining.
• Hearn and
Nicholas Limberg (Dix Hills, N.Y./St. John the Baptist Diocesan) each finished solo runs in the first 1:48 of the second quarter for a 6-1 lead. Fridel hit Ryan Schmitz and tallied his second of the day around a
Jackson Barroll (Annapolis, Md./Severn School) to make it a 7-3 game with 7:08 remaining in the opening half. Barroll and Dunleavy, however, each found the back of the back of the net in the final 90 seconds of the half to build a 9-3 advantage at the break.
• The run extended to seven straight with the Bullets scoring the first five of the third quarter.
Stokes Myers (Nashville, Tenn./Montgomery Bell Academy) fired a pass across the field to
Declan Mack (Wynnewood, Pa./Lower Merion), who finished falling down to start the second half scoring with 10:30 on the clock. Just over three minutes later, Alpaugh tallied his second before Dunleavy assisted on three goals in a 3-minute, 1-second stretch – the first to Myers for a man-up tally. He then found
Will Hedley (Charlotte, N.C./The Hotchkiss School) at the top of the box and Limberg on the right side for the 14-3 advantage. Tyler Kitchen and Jack Bill scored back-to-back goals to make it 14-5 but Mack lasered home his second of the day with 16.5 seconds left in the third to return the margin to 10.
• Maciolek tallied his second early in the fourth before two Drew Ryan tallies keyed a 3-1 Mule run that made it 18-8.
Vincent Ferrara (Sparta Township, N.J./Delbarton School) scored the Gettysburg goal in the middle.
Kyler Krewson (Cambridge, Md./Saints Peter and Paul) then scored his first two career goals in the final 3:25 – the first off a
Fionn Kinsella (Annapolis, Md./Severn School) feed in transition and the second off a takeaway right after a Muhlenberg faceoff win with 20 seconds left.
