NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – Two members of the Gettysburg women's lacrosse team have been named to the All-America team by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), released on Friday.
Lily Macatee (Street, Md./North Harford) earned first-team accolades while
Julia Daly (McLean, Va./Langley) claimed second-team honors.
Macatee, a senior defender, makes her third appearance on the All-America team after also claiming first-team honors in 2023 and second-team accolades in 2024. A four-time all-region and four-time all-conference performer, she is a three-time first-team All-Centennial Conference (CC) selection and two-time Defensive Player of the Year. Starting all 21 games she has played, she is second on the team with 86 draw controls and second with 35 ground balls. She is fourth on the squad with 20 caused turnovers and added an assist against York (Pa.) on Mar. 15. She has eight games this season with five or more draw controls, including corralling 12 against College of New Jersey on Mar. 26.
Daly, a junior attacker, is an All-American for the first time after earning her second straight first-team all-region nod. She is a three-time all-conference performer. Starting all 22 games, she leads the team with 63 goals, 48 assists and 111 points. She has also added a team-high 25 caused turnovers to go with 34 ground balls. She has registered six or more points in 11 games this season, including a six-goal, five-assist game against Ursinus on Apr. 5 for a career-high 11 points. She has scored multiple goals in the last 10 contests.
The Bullets (19-3, 7-1 CC) advanced to the national semifinals of the NCAA tournament with a 16-13 win over Denison in the quarterfinals on Sunday. Gettysburg takes on Tufts on Friday night. Game time is 7 p.m.
