GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Five members of the Gettysburg men's track and field team were named to the Division III Academic All-District track and field/cross country team, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) recently.
Academic All-District honorees are eligible to advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on July 16.
The following Bullets men's track and field athletes were honored as part of the program:
- Junior Dominic DiLuzio (Chadds Ford, Pa./Garnet Valley), a public policy/political science major
- Sophomore Maddon McNicholas (Morgantown, Pa./Twin Valley), a biology/business, organizations, and management major
- Junior Kyle Northrup (New Hope, Pa./New Hope-Solebury), a business, organizations, and management major
- Senior Reid Norton (Alexandria, Va./Gonzaga College), a business, organizations, and management major
- Sophomore Tyler Trout (Chester Springs, Pa./Owen J. Roberts), a business/economics major
Norton earned his second straight honor after being recongized last year.
To be nominated for the Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average and must have a mark that ranks in the top 50 of his region in at least one event. Up to five eligible student-athletes per institution can be selected to the all-district team.
