GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Five members of the Gettysburg baseball team were named to the Division III Academic All-District baseball team, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) recently.
Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on July 1.
The following Bullets baseball players were honored as part of the program:
- Senior Jack Burke (Montclair, N.J./Montclair), a business, organizations and management major
- Sophomore John Francesconi (Syracuse, N.Y./Marcellus), an economics major
- Senior Jack Pistner (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial), an economics major
- Sophomore Will Stellato (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Warde), a business, organizations and management major
- Senior James Weedon (New Hyde Park, N.Y./Chaminade), a psychology major
Burke and Weedon earned their second straight honor after also being selected as a junior.
To be nominated for the Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or significant reserve. Up to five eligible student-athletes per institution can be selected to the all-district team.
