Gettysburg finished fourth at the Mount 5K Duals hosted by Mount St. Mary's in the 2025 season opener. The Bullets recorded 91 points at the six-team meet.
THE LEADERS
•
Maddon McNicholas (Morgantown, Pa./Twin Valley) led the Bullets with a 16th-place showing, posting a time of 16:30.4 on the 5,000-meter course.
FOR THE FOES
• UMBC finished first with a perfect 15 points. The Retrievers had seven of the top eight runners in the field of 76 finishers.
THE REST OF THE STORY

Asher Leuzzi (Weston, Conn./Weston) and
Jack Taylor (Mohnton, Pa./Twin Valley) were the next two Bullets to cross the line in their collegiate debuts. Leuzzi crossed the line 22nd overall with a time of 16:52.2 while Taylor was right behind him in 23rd with a time of 16:53.8.

Colin Carpenter (Ridgefield, Conn./Wooster School) finished 26th with a time of 16:59.9.

Mick Lorenger (Alexandria, Va./Thomas Edison) placed 31st with a time of 17:04.9.
•
David Magill (Mamaroneck, N.Y./Rye) was 41st (17:31.9) while
Ben Cole (Wilmington, Del./Archmere Academy) was 50th (17:47.7).
• John Murphy (54th, 17:56.3),
Jayden Craig (56th, 17:59.5),
Matthew Kurek (58th, 18:23) and
Andrew Ersin (62nd, 18:37.1) rounded out the Gettysburg competitors.

• It marked the first time the Bullets competed at the event.
