THE SKINNY STORY

THE LEADERS
Ray Zamloot (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) led the Bullets with 17 points to go with five rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Malachi Briscoe (California, Md./St. Mary's Ryken) added 13 points and four rebounds.

FOR THE FOES
• Eddie Paquette led the Garnet with 22 points and six rebounds.

THE REST OF THE STORY
Aidan Mess (Columbia, Md./Mt. St. Joseph) found Ray Zamloot for a layup and then hit his own layup for a 4-0 lead in the game's first 1:21. Swarthmore worked back to tie the game at 6-all before Alex Grospe (South River, N.J./South River) drained a 3-pointer and then found Kosta Radulovic (Podgorica, Montenegro/Perkiomen School [Pa.]) for a slam and 11-6 lead with 14:25 on the clock, sparking a 13-1 run in the process. The Bullets held the Garnet to 0-for-6 from the floor over the 3-minute, 37-second stretch. Eddie Paquette hit a layup with 11:09 showing to momentarily halt the run but another Radulovic layup and Malachi Briscoe triple extended the lead to its largest at 24-9 midway through the half. Swarthmore countered, however, with 11 of the next 13 points to close to within 26-20 with 4:52 remaining in the opening stanza. Holding a 30-24 lead, five more points from Briscoe keyed a 9-0 finish to the half to take a 39-24 lead into the break.
• Five points from Paquette in a short window closed the margin to 41-31 just two minutes into the second half. The Bullets, however, responded with six straight to extend the lead out to 16 just two minutes later. The advantage remained between 12 and 18 points before a Paquette hit a jumper and two free throws to pull within 60-49 with 1:57 to play. Two Caleb Gillus (Falls Church, Va./Sidwell Friends School [D.C.]) free throws with 1:44 to play pushed the lead back to 13. Zander Jimenez responded with a layup at the other end then Pacquette drained a 3-pointer in the corner off a turnover to make it a single-digit game for the first time in the second half. Two Jimenez free throws cut the margin to 62-56 with just over a minute remaining. Off a Mess offensive rebound and kickout, Gillus hit both free throws with 27.3 seconds on the clock to push the lead back to eight. Pacquette hit a pair at the other end with 17.2 seconds left then a Nyle Coleman triple eight seconds later cut the deficit to three. Mess, however, canned a pair from the line with 8.5 seconds on the clock and the defense got a stop to seal the win.
