THE LEADERS

FOR THE FOES
• Teya McConnaha led the Green Terror with 24 points, including going 5-for-6 from long range. She rounded out a double-double with 11 rebounds.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Baskets from three different players staked Gettysburg to a 6-0 lead in the game's first 2:31. After
Kimberly Hopkins (Baldwin, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) and Teya McConnaha traded short-range jumpers, McConnaha hit back-to-back triples to tie the game at 8-all with 4:22 on the clock. Tied at 14-all,
Adeline Standish (Avon, Conn./Avon) hit a layup with six seconds remaining for a 16-14 edge at the end of the first period.
• Trailing 23-22 after a
Reagan Chrencik (New Hope, Pa./New Hope-Solebury) layup with 5:25 to play, two more McConnaha 3-pointers capped a 10-0 run that gave McDaniel a 32-23 lead in the final minute. Hopkins and
Amanda Rapel (Stewartsville, N.J./Phillipsburg) baskets around another McConnaha layup made it a 34-27 game at the intermission.
• A Lauren Cavoli 3-pointer and Reagan Lenz layup just over a minute apart extended the Green Terror lead to 42-32 but
Olivia Jones drained a 3-pointer with 5:40 showing to pull the Bullets back within eight. After Elaina Beckett stretched the lead back to 10,
Sasha Brody (Lynchburg, Va./Virginia Episcopal School) pulled up and hit from the foul line to spark an 11-2 close to the period and make it a 47-46 game heading to the fourth.
• McConnaha opened the fourth quarter with her final triple to give McDaniel a 50-46 lead 69 seconds into the final quarter. A Jones free throw and two Chrencik layups put Gettysburg in front for the first time since midway through the second quarter. A McConnaha layup interrupted a 9-2 run that gave the Bullets a 55-52 lead with 4:48 to play. A Beckett layup and Cavoli steal-and-layup put the Green Terror back up one 45 seconds later. After two minutes scoreless by both teams, Jones drained a triple for a 58-56 lead at the 2:04 mark. Cavoli and McConnaha each hit one free throw around two charity tosses from Rapel to make it a 60-58 game with 1:02 to play. A Jones floater with 19.0 seconds stretched the lead to four before Kendra Mason hit a baseline jumper with 5.7 ticks on the clock. Inbounding in the frontcourt, the ball went right to Jones and she was fouled with 4.9 seconds showing before calmly sinking both free throws for a four-point lead. The defense got a stop and Rapel canned the second of two with 0.5 seconds for the final five-point margin.
