THE LEADERS
Ethan Composto (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) led the Bullets with victories in both of his matches on the day.

FOR THE FOES
• Teddy Perry recorded a 7-5 win at heavyweight to get the Maroons the win in the opener.
• Art Martinez led the Spartans with a third-period pin.
• Justin Mayes led the Violets with a 36-second fall.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• In the first match against Chicago, Tank Spelta (Elkridge, Md./Georgetown Prep) earned a forfeit at 125 to stake Gettysburg to an early 6-0 lead. Jackson Rustad followed with a 9-3 win at 133 and Sean Conway added a 13-2 victory at 141 to take the edge, 7-6. After a Maksim Mukhamedaliyev 4-1 win at 149, Gavin Pascoe (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) started a run of three straight Bullet wins for a 19-10 lead in the match. Pascoe and Justin Richey (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) bookended the stretch with major decisions, winning 10-2 and 11-2, respectively. Ethan Composto notched a second-period technical fall by a 20-3 margin at 165 in the middle. Jackson Davis added a tech fall late the 184 bout to make it a 19-15 score before Gunnary Garriques notched a 3-minute, 50-second fall at 197 for a two-point lead and bringing it to the final bout. Teddy Perry won 7-5 to secure the match and Gettysburg was deducted a team point for unsportsmanlike conduct after the loss for the 24-18 final.
• Case Western opened the next match with three straight wins, including the Art Martinez pin at 133 for an early 13-0 lead. Jake Mitchell (Enola, Pa./Cumberland Valley) recorded a 10-1 win at 149 to get the Bullets on the board. After a 5-4 Thomas Wagner decision at 157, Composto tallied an 11-1 major and Richey added a 4-3 win to close the margin to 16-11. A Mathew Gummere 12-0 major and Aidan Gassel third-period technical fall sealed the win. Marcus Richey (Pittsburgh, Pa./Quaker Valley) closed out the match with a 4-minute, 8-second pin at heavyweight for the 25-17 final margin.
• Two technical falls helped stake NYU to a 13-0 lead before Mitchell recorded a 5-1 win at 149 to make it 13-3. Pascoe added a 20-6 major decision win but the Violets reeled off three more victories – all by match termination – to open up a 30-7 lead after 184.
