THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg took a top-three spot in five of the 10 weight classes to finish third at the annual Petrofes Invitational hosted by Messiah. The Bullets scored 142 points on the weekend.

THE LEADERS
• Jake Mitchell (Enola, Pa./Cumberland Valley) finished second at 149. His weekend started with a 2-minute, 2-second pin of Shenandoah's Griffin Stewart before recording back-to-back major decisions, winning by scores of 8-0 and 11-1 to advance to Saturday in the winner's bracket. In the semifinals, Mitchell edged Arcadia's Caden Frost 4-3 before falling to St. Vincent's Anthony Orlandini 7-3 in the title bout.
• Gavin Pascoe (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) followed that up at 157 with another second-place showing. He opened his weekend with a pair of major decisions, winning 17-3 and 12-2 before nabbing an 8-4 victory in the quarterfinals to remain in the championship bracket going to Saturday. Pascoe recorded a pin midway through the third period of Robert Leeds (NYU) in the semifinals before Adrain's Aidan Smith won the championship round, 6-2.
• At 165, Ethan Composto (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) had two technical fall wins in his first two outings of the weekend. He won 19-4 and 19-3 to advance to the quarterfinals, where he defeated Springfield's Gabe Thomasson, 4-2. In the semifinals on Saturday, Composto recorded a 9-5 win over NYU's Nick Bell before falling to Keegan Demarest (Messiah), 15-6.

• Messiah won its own 15-team invitational with 172 points. New York University was second with 158 points.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Phil Nave (Venetia, Pa./Peters Twp.) and Simon Taylor (Alexandria, Va./Woodbury Forest School) both finished third, falling in the semifinals of their respective weight classes. At 197, Nave opened with a bye before two pins put him into the semifinals. His first fall came in 55 seconds before winning in the quarterfinals 19 seconds into the second period. Springfield's Olivia Parker pinned Nave in 4:54 in the semifinals to start Saturday. Nave came back with a medical forfeit win in the consolation semifinals and a third pin on the weekend, taking down Averett's Jacob Jimenez in the third-place match in 6:16. Taylor started his weekend at heavyweight with a 10-3 win, sandwiching a 17-2 technical between another 5-0 decision in the quarterfinals. On Saturday morning, Alvernia's Owen Reber edged Taylor 2-1 in the semifinals. Taylor bounced back with two more pins, notching a 2-minute, 32-second fall in the consolation semis and a 44-second pin in the third-place match.
• Brendan Callahan (Woolrich Twp., N.J./Kingsway Regional) placed fourth at 141, opening his weekend with a second-period pin of Kyle Gidman (Springfield) before notching a 15-0 technical fall in the second round. Bridgewater State's Malcolm Chrispin recorded an 8-2 win over Callahan in the quarterfinals. In the consolation bracket, Callahan grabbed a first-period pin and a pair of decisions, 6-2 and 4-2, to advance to third-place match. There, Messiah's Jacob Cunningham recoded a 16-2 win to relegate Callahan to fourth place.
• Torey Falkinburg (Brielle, N.J./Manasquan) placed fifth at 133. After notching a 16-4 major decision and 8-5 decision in the first two rounds, Falkinburg dropped a 10-3 decision to Messiah's Caiden Heller. In the consolation bracket, Falkinburg's first two matches were close ones. He needed sudden victory to top his own teammate 4-1 before edging AJ Orlando (Averett), 7-6. Ethan Buonanducci (Bridgewater State) defeated Falkinburg 13-4 in the consolation semifinals before Falkinburg earned a medical forfeit to place fifth.
• Ean Wilson (Gardners, Pa./Boiling Springs) placed sixth at 165. After a 1-minute, 23-second victory for fall to open the day on Friday, Wilson dropped a 27-12 technical fall to Arcadia's Landen Taylor in the second round. Wilson's road back through the consolation bracket started with a pair of technical falls, 15-0 and 19-1. He then added a 7-0 win and a medical forfeit victory to advance to the consolation semifinals. Wilson then dropped his final two bouts by fall.
