Richey leads Gettysburg at Mideast Futures

THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg had seven top-four finishes to place third at the 2026 Mideast Futures tournament hosted by Alvernia. The Bullets scored 81.5 points.

THE LEADERS
Marcus Richey (Pittsburgh, Pa./Quaker Valley) led the Bullets with a first-place finish at heavyweight. He bookended his 3-0 day with a pair of first-period pins. He opened with a 2-minute, 2-second fall of Stevens Ben Rosa before downing Jeffrey Gessner (TCNJ) 4-1 in the semifinals. In the title bout, he pinned College of New Jersey's Alejandro Camarena in 2:18.

FOR THE FOES
• College of New Jersey won the team title with 132 points behind nine top-two finishes. Stevens was second with 119.5 and had three individual champions.

THE REST OF THE STORY
Peyton Reese (Tabernacle, N.J./Seneca) finished second at 141. After an opening-round bye, he downed Dean Meissner (TCNJ) 10-7 and recorded a 2-minute, 48-second pin in the semifinals. Luke Reittner claimed the title with a 5-2 win.
Connor Hoefling (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) had an opening-round bye at 165 before defeating Elizabethtown's Johnny Mauer 4-3 in the quarterfinals. He advanced to the title tilt with a 6-2 win but Ethan Bliss earned a third-period technical fall 18-1 to relegate Hoefling to second place.
Danny Carrozza (Brookfield, Conn./Brookfield) added a third-place showing at 141. He fell to the eventual champion Reittner 13-2 in the quarterfinals. In the consolation bracket, he recorded three pins that included a pair of first-period falls. He downed Dominic Marinilli (Stevens) in 2:54, Landon Youse in 3:52 and Meissner in 1:07.
Justin Musmanno (West Windsor, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro North) and Ryan Gallagher (Fountainville, Pa./Pennridge) also finished third at 157 and 184, respectively. Musmanno opened with an 11-6 decision and 4-minute, 47-second pin before falling by second-period technical fall in the semifinals. A 17-2 technical fall in the second period in the consolation semifinals and pin in 5:51 gave Musmanno third. Gallagher competed in a round-robin bracket at 184. He dropped a 7-1 decision and 17-5 major around pinning Albright's Rene Dorelus in 2:32.
Kyle Collins (Mastic Beach, N.Y./William Floyd) finished fourth at 149. After dropping to the consolation bracket by way a 12-1 loss, Collins recorded pins in 1:57 and 4:48 to advance to the consolation semifinals, where he downed Etown's Casey Spina, 15-3. Justin Ciliotta (Stevens) downed Collins for the second time, winning the third-place bout by fall in 3:42.
Zach Owens (West Windsor, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro North) and Toby Eveleth (Baltimore, Md./Catonsville) both advanced to the fifth-place match at 133 but did not compete in the bout. Owens dropped his opening match 11-2 before pinning Marquez Thomas (Albright) in 3:25. He then downed his teammate Danny Hopkins 16-3 before falling by technical fall in the second period of the consolation semifinals. Eveleth also dropped a match termination to Maximillian Connell, who won by fall in 4:09 in the opening bout. Eveleth then recorded a late pin and edge Stevens' Naci Robinson, 4-3. He dropped his consolation semifinal 3-1 to Stevens' Gabriel Hargrove.
Kobe Moore (Harrisburg, Pa./Camp Hill) placed sixth at 174, including winning 10-7 in sudden victory.
