GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Six members of the Gettysburg football team were named to the Division III Academic All-District football team, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday.
Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on Jan. 27.
The following Bullets football players were honored as part of the program:
- Senior Patrick McAuliffe (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton West), a business, organizations and management/economics major
- Sophomore Isaac Parks-Gill (Lewistown, Pa./Mifflin County), an undeclared major
- Senior Justin Rhyne (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial), a business, organizations and management major
- Sophomore Rob Shultz (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee), a finance major
- Sophomore Adam Wolkowski (Naglady, Poland/The Kiski School [Pa.])
- Sophomore Nick Wonsala (Manasquan, N.J./Wall), a political science major
McAuliffe earned his second straight honor after also being selected as a junior. Rhyne also earned his second honor having been selected as a junior.
To be nominated for the Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or significant reserve. Up to eight eligible student-athletes per institution can be selected to the all-district team.
